Another theory, and probably closer to the truth.

From Sean Macadam (CSNNE):

As Headley was tagged out at third in a close play, he stood up and waited to see if his team was going to challenge the call. Porcello, who had come over to third to back up the play, was walking back to the mound and appeared to say something that produced a reaction from Headley.

A good guess may be that Porcello suggested, in less than polite terms, that Headley should get off third base and off the field.

would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

That's what it looked like from how YES showed it, but I didn't assume anything since they only showed Headley's reaction and not what spawned it. Now we know more about what happened...possibly.

Snob, I was in tears laughing so hard when A-Rod came up as a pinch hitter. After chanting his name for two nights, he was booed unmercifully. I was literally crying.

Another weird Sox/Yanks game...

That was fucking funny
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I think we all knew he would get booed if he came up. They still boo Ellsbury. :lol

I think they're going to do with him what they did the Clemens. They booed him when he appeared in his last game at Fenway, but as the game ended they gave him a standing ovation. The booing is part of the game. It's fun and most people don't really have ill will towards a person. At the end of the day, baseball fans will cheer when it's really well deserved, regardless of who the player is (in most cases). A-Rod is no Jeter, as far as class and respect, but he is still one of the greats.

It definitely was a weird game. That pitcher came in for Boston and...forgot where the strike zone was I guess. I was hoping they'd keep him in.

I'm sensing a pattern...

Good riddance A-Roid.

This Friday we say goodbye to the greatest Yankee ever.  It will be a sad day for all Yankee fans.

Real Yankee fans are probably doing a backflip in excitement.

Peace out cheater!

This game.

AZ @ BOS

Is almost comical.

It's what... 16-1? Red Sox?

So...it begins. Since Stanton is probably out for the year, the Marlins are interested in A-Rod?

Where would he play, though? Marlins don't have a DH.

I haven't read any articles but they would need an OF bat, not infield. I heard Carlos Gomez mentioned which makes more sense.

Aroid cannot play 3rd and he sure as hell can't play short. Not anymore. DH or first base for him. So for the Marlins, first, which is actually a position of need. But no way does he come close to matching Stanton's offensive production.

The nightmare scenario is Aroid going (back) to Texas to be a DH/pinch hitter for a championship contending team that just lost Prince Fielder.

I know what they need, which is why it seemed weird that they would look at A-Rod, but I don't know if these articles were just started by some rumor or if they hold any truth to them.

A-Rod is definitely still a long ball threat, but aside from that he's practically been a guaranteed out this year. As a Jays fan i see him a lot each season, and I'm not the least bit worried about him possibly going to another AL contender.
