Hey, Bolsters, I can't see the scoreboards at the moment. I just get the little blue question marks. Is this just me or have they actually vanished?
They never worked for me on the phone, maybe that's where you looked at them?

I was looking at them on a computer, so I don't know what was up. I can see them now, though, so it's all good.

Very excited to hear what everyone has sent! Also excited to be the host of this round and the main judge this time... I'll try to be a little more active in the thread than I was this past round. I love how Evermind comes in totally confident that I'm going to love his song (which is encouraging, but also a bit intimidating, because I remember what happens when I don't enthusiastically love an Evermind submission :lol ). And then the best Parama can say is "you probably won't dislike this." :lol
And if spirit's a sign,
Then it's only a matter of time

maybe it's because i'm not that interested in entering "safe" music in roulettes anymore, since my own music tastes have gotten progressively weirder over the course of the past year, i'unno
though my entry this round isn't really that weird either, so

then again my planned entry for round the red is really safe because i have no clue what they like really, i'll probably go over their results post and banned list again at some point i guess

Not sure how far the other judges are, but after two listens of every song, here are my overall first impressions (I'm not doing a small anonymous write-up for every song, rather post some overall facts.)

There are two songs in this batch that I absolutely love, one might even be full points worthy.

Quite a few (progressive) metal songs that still mostly kind of blur together, although I did enjoy everythin to a certain degree at least.

Three songs I feel might have a lot of growing potential but don't do anything for me as of yet.

Overall, I think this round is about as diverse music wise as the last round.

And, there's nothing here I actively dislike, so probably no score below a 2.5 from me.

Just finished my first listen. I'm not as enthusiastic as Tyrias is... yet. There are some songs in this round that I really liked quite a bit and that will definitely score well, and some others that I liked, but didn't love, but I think will grow, and then some others that I didn't really think were that special.

Three people have pretty much nothing to worry about from me (except, of course, you do, because I'm not going to tell you who you are), you're going to score well unless I change into a different person tomorrow and start hating songs I loved today. Two of you are very likely to score well, but not likely to score as well as those three. The rest of you could still score pretty well, but could also score somewhat mediocrely... it very much depends on how the next couple of listens go...

Okay, second listen, I liked this round rather better than I did on the first go. Some of the songs that I wasn't too keen on, I was able to get into somewhat. Everything should get at least a decently good score. One thing that makes me very cautious in making a positive estimation of this round is that there's not really any songs that stand out head and shoulders above the rest. I do have a favorite song of the round right now, but it is a different song than the one that was my favorite last time, and neither has been my favorite by a significant margin—my favorite could change again on the final listen, and there is a surprisingly high number of songs that have the potential to take that spot.

Right now, there's not much separation in the scores, either. I don't really expect that to change, since I don't think any of these songs are going to go down in my estimation (the bottom two songs in my ranking, in fact, I think are the two mostly likely songs to go up in my estimation). This means that Tyrias and the enigmatic Red Judge have the potential to make a tremendous amount of difference in who does the best this round...

I'm 3 to 5 listens in and have finished half my write-ups, what I can say is that there is a lot more difference in points than it seems to be for 425. I'll just post some excerpts from the write-ups I've finished to raise suspension (totally out of context of course ;))

I love the kind of childish/playful keyboards that appear from time to time.

And while I’m generally a fan of calm outros, this one doesn’t quite do justice to everything that happened before it.

There’s just the one problem with keeping my attention that lowers my score.

And then there's this one:

In fact, if this was my own roulette I’d probably make up some rule and give it more than full points, because “This is absolutely amazing. I don't wanna listen to any other roulette submissions right now but check out this artist discography instead” is quite true, but doesn’t come near to describing how much I love this song.

Final write-ups from me on Sunday, probably.

Wow.

Not that I can top that, but here are a few of mine from the stream-of-consciousness ramblings that I produce as I listen to these songs.

The outro saves this thing so hard, though, because it’s a really, really good outro.

Taking it for what it is instead of expecting some shift midway through really just reaffirms for me that this is really awesome.

Second listen I really like this one quite a bit. Really cool stylistically, pretty memorable, I mean, I definitely want to hear the rest of this album, hear what kind of stuff this band gets up to.

It seems like it’s going to be simplistic at the beginning but then stuff goes on. I really like this. This is very good. This is up my alley. This person gets me.

The guitar solo section is really good.

His voice, wow. Wow.

The chorus and the intro are real strengths for this song. Some of the other parts fall a little bit flat... but the intro is amazing and the song has a great chorus.

The singer... is all around just very good and emotional... maybe not the best of the round but good.

I mean this is a solid metal song. I have nothing against it, it’s pretty solid and it has a good chorus.

Not sure how much those help in terms of understanding anything, but maybe it will be fun to read some of the slightly insane things I write.

Sunday for me as well, most likely.

so many of those are so vague that i'm not even gonna bother, just hope for the best  :lol

though i don't think it's any of the ones that have negative implications.
the outro certainly isn't leagues better than the rest
nor is the chorus or the intro definitively better than the rest. well, the chorus is actually but the intro nah
and if 425 is calling it metal i'd be really surprised  :lol

I mean, yeah, I have no idea how to be not vague and yet not reveal the identity of the song. Especially when there's a solid handful of prog metal songs, so it's hard for me to just say "the prog metal song was good because of how proggy and metallic it was," thus giving no idea what it is, and then like the one electronic or folk song gets "I liked the electronic/folk song," thus revealing exactly which one it is.

I guess the main point of those quotes is to show my general impression of the songs of this round, since it kind of ranges from unreservedly positive to cases where I'm very uncertain about some parts of the song while praising others. It also gives a slight insight into the bizarre writings that I produce when listening to these that only I end up reading. More bizarre quotes from those might include a part where I say that scoring songs out of 15 points "makes me uncomfortable," a part where I quote a line of lyrics in all caps and add simply "yes. yes it is," or even where I express the sentiment that "numbers are hard."

In other words, my personal notes about roulette songs kind of resemble some actual posts made on DTF by the user Parama. :lol

EDIT: One of the ones that you just said probably isn't yours actually is yours. Enjoy that little tidbit. :lol

From 425s, mine is virtually certain to be one of the comments regarding the vocalist.  You'll all (or most of ya) will agree when you see the song I sent.

In fact, if this was my own roulette I’d probably make up some rule and give it more than full points, because “This is absolutely amazing.
