True, it's on the softer side. I didn't want to go full metal either  :P

My first impression was more like soft prog-rock bordering on ambient honestly. That song was about as metal as the ice cream I just ate.

Also, what the hell am I listening to?

Completely valid question :lol

And is the answer good or bad?

To be honest I didn't listen to the whole thing. I skipped through it to check if everything was as weird as the first part but it seemed like it would be a titanic effort to take it all in one listen so I gave up.

The first 3 mins are the only weird part, the rest, specially the second half, is more acoustic. Or just check what happens at 19:00 and tell me that ain't beautiful  :'(

sacul is probably really dumb for sending a 36 minute song but i kinda hope he wins anyways, but i honestly don't think he will. he probably wouldn't if i was a judge at least, but i'm not a judge

I mean, if Dimension Act was allowed, I'd probably sent a 32-minute song by them too, but I already used it in 425's roulette.

And it actually has vocals. I think my biggest gripe with your song is that it's an instrumental. I knew it was an instrumental and I still waited for the vocals to come in. :lol I'm such a traditional metal guy when it comes to music. Can't fathom a 30+ minutes long instrumental.

I think it's cool how the top 3 ended up being (atleast from what I've seen) very different in music styles.

Don't think Sacul will win this either to be honest, but he atleast got me very surprised to even end up in the finals. I haven't heard either of Nekov/Everminds songs so I can't say for sure, but with the current standings my money is on the russian.
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Well, Subsignal is bound to get a good - but probably not great - scores, a decent song and enjoyable too. Mine is more of a coinflip I guess, but I can see how all the judges might enjoy that one.

I actually can see Nekov winning this if my song falls flat for both Tyrias and 425. Doubt that will happen, but you never know.

Nah, I think I've heard Heligoland by Massive Attack and that's it. Are Massive Attack even post-rock? :lol I don't know.

Oh wait, they're trip hop. Yeah, alright.

Well, like I said I was away over the weekend so I'm still only one listen in. I'd say wednesday at the earliest for me, quite possibly later. It all totally depends on how long it takes before I feel like I have a good grasp on your song and can make a fair judgment (<- opeth nugget).

Let's be real, I'm never going to be completely ready to deliver results on a round that includes two short songs and one 36 minute instrumental.

But I'll probably end up delivering Wednesday as well. Patterns in the ivy.

I didn't have a lot of hope when I sent but after listening to the other songs I have some now. While I didn't like Evermind's song I can see the judges giving it a good score and Sacul's song is too risky to even attempt to figure out what's going to happen with it. I guess we all just have to wait.

Exactly. Yours was an hour long, but all the songs in the round put together were around 4 hours long, so you were about 25% of the length. Here Sacul is like 78% of the length.

I can picture Tyrias and 425 liking Ev's song quite well, but Mr Red will probably say it's just ok. I haven't listened to Diego's yet, but seems we all went with risky choices :lol

So how broad is Wednesday in your time zones? It's 8.30 PM Tuesday here now. Can we perhaps expect results in 24 hours? ;)

Just want to know a relative timeframe when it happens so I could feverishly hit F5 on my PC or the refresh button on my phone every few minutes.

It's 1:35 PM Tuesday where I am. It is conceivable that you'll see results in the next 24 hours, but I wouldn't bet on it. 36 yes. I will try for 24, but I don't want to promise it because it may not happen for myriad reasons.

To spice this up a bit, have some tidbits (more like impressions, as I'm pretty sure they won't end up in the final write-up for the most part).

I knew I would like this one after the first five seconds.

This seems to be really good music for having in the background when you're contemplating god, the world and everything in between.

This has lots of elements I normally really like in a song, but for some reason the whole thing just fails to impress me.
