The Darkwater thread
« on: December 31, 2015, 03:45:06 PM »
I can't believe there's no thread for this band. I was clicking around on different progressive metal albums last night on YouTube and I clicked on their album Where Stories End. Holy shit. Amazing music. It's like Dream Theater, Pain of Salvation and a few other bands all wrapped in one. Apparently they have a new album coming out in 2016. Anyone else like these guys?

I have Calling The Earth To Witness. It's pretty good, nothing mindblowing. Tallest Tree is a fantastic song, though.

I like Breathe, but haven't found anything else that I really care for.

The first album is one of my favorite albums ever. Tallest Tree is my favorite track on it. Second album was kind of a letdown to me. Never found anything on it memorable. It was just a weaker copy of the first album.

I also have the three albums by the band's other incarnation, Harmony, but I don't think they come close to the Darkwater stuff. Swap one band member and you have a whole new band, apparently. Though to be fair, Harmony is more melodic Christian metal, rather than the prog metal Dream Theater-esque stuff you get with Darkwater.
Hire me. I'm talentless but malleable.

Calling The Earth To Witness is awesome! I got that shortly after it came out.

Second album was kind of a letdown to me.
This.

Their singer is on the new Waken Eyes album also featuring Marco Minneman.

I also have the three albums by the band's other incarnation, Harmony,

Harmony isn't bad. I had high hopes for their last one which featured Daniel Heiman on vocals, but it did not live up to my self imposed hype. He was so good in Lost Horizon.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

That's nice. I might need to hear a couple of more tracks after their last album blew.

I've never listened to them before, but really love this new album.  Great, crunchy progressive metal.  Love the keyboards and vocals as well.
