Yes. Yes you do. I think it has surpassed 'Continuum' as my all time favorite Sci Fi series. In any event, if you like the Sci Fi genre and you haven't watched this show you are REALLY missing out. Incredible special effects....I'm not exaggerating when I say they are motion picture level maybe even better.....the space sequences are awesome.

And the show does a great job at depicting how the political scene would most likely look if mankind were to populate the solar system. The story continually progresses with no real 'slow' spots and they have several different story lines being told all interwoven. It's just a really good show.

Ah, too much good TV to watch!
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I LOVE The Expanse.  I just don't have time to watch this new season yet!

The best show on tv right now IMHO. The Expanse is incredible.

Halfway through season 4. Watching just one episode a day, to make it last.

I'm with  you on loving this show to death but I personally give that nod to Mr. Robot.....The Expanse is up there though. It's such a good show. Well written, visually stunning....story just continues to advance with no real slow moments.

Great season and in general this is one of the best sci-fi shows in recent years. The only thing that annoys me is some of the characters especially Avasarala, there's just something about her acting that throws me off. I  everytime she get's mad and swears, i'm not sure why but that just feels like forced acting.

Amos is my favourite though. :lol

I actually think that's something that dosen't get enough credit, I mean i'm not sure about their budget but in terms of tv-shows in general the CGI is really top notch for the most parts.

It’s a step above near all other attempts from Sci Fi shows. It looks incredible.

I really enjoyed the second and third seasons, but honestly the first season is by far my favourite. I enjoyed the relatively grounded scifi setting and subsequent seasons are getting more and more "space magic". But now that I accepted that, I look forward to viewing the rest and waiting for other seasons. It is great that Amazon picked this one up.

Furthermore,  talking about video games, the first season of The Expanse felt somewhat similar to Call of Duty Infinite Warfare campaign in more than one way (which I consider to be underrated). I think it is worth a try if you enjoy a Mars vs Earth and colonies story with political stuff mixed in.

I still think it's well grounded, especially the human tech.

When you introduce alien tech of such an advanced magnitude sure it's gonna seem like magic.  The whole series is based on alien tech, starting with the protomolecule.  But the human tech is at least believable!

Just starting Season 4 and loving it.

Anyone read the books?  If so, is there a lot of difference?  Or does it follow the books fairly closely?

The missus and I finished up watching all four seasons this past weekend. I'm now halfway through the first novel (read the prequel short stories too).

Anyone read the books?  If so, is there a lot of difference?  Or does it follow the books fairly closely?

The main thread of the story, as relates to the Rocinante crew, Miller and the protomolecule is the same. Much of the solar system politics is different, but interesting.

Finished it. Loved it. Can’t wait for season 5.

A little bummed that they never showed what happened after Amos said “Thank you” in the brig.

Okay, all caught up on The Expanse, both the TV show and all the books (so far). I'm really excited to see how they pull off season five. If they continue with each season being equal to each book, it shall be interesting to see fan response for non-book readers!

CrimsonSunrise,

[not really spoilery, but I'm going to tiny text because some folks prefer it]

Do you think the TV series should end with book six? I think the last three books would be very difficult to pull off with the current batch of actors. I think they should end it there. The story is pretty complete at that point. Although, I will say that Tiamat's Wrath is probably my favorite of the series.

Great point!  Yeah, hollywood these days could probably age them all 30 years no sweat, but the story is pretty much wrapped up nicely after Babylon's Ashes.  I think they could easily stretch books 5 and 6 into 3 more seasons!  Then rest the series for say 5 years and return with a new cast or the same cast just aged.   Just waiting for the rocks to fall and the shit to hit the fan!

Finally got around to the latest season and knocked it out in 2 days. Did not seem like 10 episodes at all, it's that good.

And, yeah, we all know what Amos did. Burn Gorman has a real knack for playing douchy characters you love to hate.

As much as some people might hate it, we need to thank Bezos for being such a fan that he pretty much made this shows continuation his own personal thing. The man can bankroll the rest of the series out of his own pocket and it would be pocket change to him.

Pardon the interruption, but I just had to run in and celebrate the majesty of Lube in the Face as highest moment in roulette history

For my money, The Expanse is the 'best' sci-fi themed show of the past decade. I am sooooooo happy this didn't die after season 3.
