No truer words have ever been spoken. I remember feeling younger than my age, but like Kev pointed out, somewhere in the early forties I had to really start working harder to keep up with normal tasks.

I'm still astonished to see the crusty ol' dude in the mirror (that's just not how my ego sees myself) but I'm really feeling all the miles these days.

I turn 40 next month and can honestly say that I am in far better shape now than when I was 30. I run anywhere from 15-25 miles a week....eat fairly good and 'feel' good....BUT....I have to REALLY work at it. Whereas in the past (even as soon as two, three years ago) it wasn't such a chore.

But I can feel the age catching up to me and when I really stop and take a good stare at myself in the mirror....it's like 'wow....you REALLY are a 40 year old dude? How the  :censored did that happen?"  :lol

It's amazing - truly amazing - what happens at that (seemingly) inconsequential number of 40.  It happens within months of turning 40.  Things that did not disrupt me all of a sudden threw me for a loop - my joints, my general achy-ness, injury recovery time,  bruises ("Where the fuck did THAT come from?") etc... Mentally, I'm not there.  But every so often, my body does some fuckin outlandish shit to remind me  "Dude, you're over 40".

I Have noticed that I've already begun to do that.  :(  It usually involves ascending or descending stairs.....the first fifteen seconds of every run I go on, or getting out of my car   :lol
