I bought 2 new pair of jeans.  One of the belt loops broke and the zipper did as well.  So I've got to travel back to my old hometown where I bought them tomorrow to get them replaced.

The closing date is May 24th which is when my gf would move up. I'd probably move the first week of June because of work here.

Now we still have until the 13th for our due diligence period. We can back out and only lose $500 which is a good option because we haven't even seen the house in person.

We are also meeting with a builder that we've wanted to meet with to have a home a built in September, if the price is roughly the same then we will go with a newly built house over this home.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

What the hell do you do to put them on?

I went to grab the back of the jeans and pulled one loop by accident and it ripped but it wasn't a hard tug so it was faulty.  Then, god knows the zipper.  I don't even know how that happened.

I lowered my car insurance by switching to GEICO a couple months ago...and it was by a metric fuckton more than 15%.

My insurance guy was my next door neighbor growing up as a kid so he cuts corners for me to lower the costs.

I just lowered my Verizon bill by $75.

My phone is a company phone so I'm lucky there but my wife is around that cost.  It's worth it for Verizon's network.  Their reception is the best.

Well I got my renewal bill for my old car insurance and once again they raised the rate despite our records being clean. The reason was "inflation". So I called around and got some quotes and GEICO is very highly rated in Maryland and the exact same coverage, same values, amounts, everything, was literally, and I do mean literally, 1/5th the price I was paying. ONE FIFTH! Done and done.

My cell phone is a different service. I would love to switch to Verizon once my Sprint contract is up. I get a discount through Sprint and Verizon through my job so even though I've been with Sprint for about 15 years, I still want to switch. Verizon's service is so much better from what I've seen.

Thats why you got to shop.  Insurance gets expensive when you stick with the same company sadly, you'd think they give you a better rate the longer you stay with them.  I left Geico for Travelers.  Saved a ton of money.  In 5 years maybe I should call Geico and get a better deal.

Maybe if they switch - then the Millennium Falcon could make the Kessel run in a unit of TIME and not DISTANCE.

Oh snap!
I think one of the books have tried to explain that by suggesting that it is distance, but Han could do the Kessel run in a shorter distance which is more dangerous and difficult or something. :lol

I'm all for the metric system. It eludes me how people are afraid to use it. It's simpler for all you mathematically illiterate types and it's based on 10 which our number system already is. I don't get it.

It's so much simpler. All of the unit prefixes are standard and simple, everything is in powers of 10, and it relates completely different units of measurement in ways that make it easy and practical to use every day.
I think the US is too set in its ways to bother to change now though.

It's just a matter of what's already familiar to people, because I think objectively the metric system is much easier than the US system. I use the old system when working from old blueprints because I find it best to work in native units, and it's a complete pain in the ass to work with even just for basic feet/inches/fractions of an inch.
I think the US just went about switching wrong, and didn't stick with it.

I agree completely. So today, instead of being 72 inches tall, I am 183 centimeters tall.

Oddly, people's height is one of the very few things where I think the old system is still more common in everyday usage than metric here. That might be the US' influence though.
