Dropped the car off for a repair and found out I needed a loaner. They are performing a free upgrade to my wireless receiver and the repair takes upwards of 6 hours. Boo. At least I have wheels in the interim.

The "free upgrade" is actually a hidden microphone and GPS tracker so they can monitor you at all times. Oldest trick in the book.

My car is a wifi hotspot, uses a sim card to access T-Mobile (it's called Audi Connect). T-Mobile recently did what they call a "turndown" and because of that, I can't connect. Audi is giving me a free hardware upgrade so I can continue to connect, but it will take 6 hours because of where in the car the wireless radio is and how long the software upgrade will take.

Audi Connect also means I have Google maps integration in my GPS, real time updates like events, gas prices, and traffic, and GPS location searches via Google.

That, plus standing for three hours (90 minutes dress rehearsal, 90 minutes concert) in my good shoes that are a little too small now, plus singing some really challenging stuff.

Howdy.

The Garth Brooks concert last night was pretty awesome. I know he is "country", but that was a fucking rock show. I've seen Van Halen, and I've seen the Who, but that was easily the loudest concert I've ever attended.

Dude puts some serious energy and charisma into his show, too. It was very entertaining.

He definitely brought the volume and light show.

Also, the stage was "in the round" and all the musicians who weren't tied down to one spot (like the drummer and keyboards) were all over the place all night. Pretty cool.

Really sucks that when I see or hear of people who have been friends all their lives or for decades, I get so depressed. I've never really had that lifelong friend, and even though I've recently been able to catch up with good friends, I simply have never had a lifelong friend and I end up wallowing in self-pity whenever I see it.

Same here. I have people that I know. That i'm friendly with. But I get really sad sometimes that i've never had that close friend that texts first and wants to hang out..

Anytime I wanna hang out with anyone I have to ask them if theyre free and try and "convince" them...

I feel your pain. The guy who was my closest friend in life and I just sort of drifted away after the birth of my youngest daughter. He and his family moved right after that so he could work on his PhD. That was 13 years ago. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess.

We recently reconnected, but it isn't anywhere near the same.
