Sounds nice to me.

I haven't eaten today yet. I had two cups of coffee this morning, and that's it. I think I'll order a pizza for dinner.

We met up for Ramen. There's a new place down the road from my office. Was pretty damn good.

I love Ramen. There are quite a few places for that here in the city.

Pouring here.  Hard rain tonight.  It's about mid 60's here today.

It's supposed to "become noticeably cooler tomorrow" and by that they mean 68°. I can handle a cooler 68°.

*Hehe*

I'm so looking forward to hanging with my buddy and brother.  It's harder to get together as we get older with kids and work schedules but this will be a fun time.

I'm finding this new job very fortuitous for me because I am now working very near my best friend. Even though he and his wife don't live far, we never find the time to see each other because our schedules never mesh. But now that I am basically working down the street from him, he and I have met up for lunch a handful of times and we get to catch up and maintain the friendship, as well as plan times for all of us to get together.

My former "best friend" pretty much dropped me out of his life, and this guy has always been a really awesome friend to me, so I'm glad this is now a possibility more and more often.

It seems weird to say that I sorely missed him. He and I were roommates for my 3rd and 4th years in college, and we were both groomsmen in each others' weddings. We saw each other more often closer to when we graduated college but then as life and work happened, we went longer without seeing each other.

In hindsight, I really wish I had asked him to be my best man, given that the guy who was my best man is the aforementioned one who cut me out. But, oh well, can't change that. At the time, I had known the other guy longer and did consider him my best friend.

It's unfortunate that people grow apart because life happens.

Well, my former friend and I didn't have to grow apart. While I will never actually know why it happened, the break did coincide with him meeting his wife. She came to town with him to meet us once (I had known him for almost 20 years) and after that, his texts to me became fewer and fewer, he stopped acknowledging my birthday despite me acknowledging his, and ultimately never told me he was engaged or married, despite being my best man and informally promising me a spot in his own wedding party. When I found out he was married and I didn't even get invited, I pretty (finally) made the decision that if he considers me out of his life, I might as well consider the same of him. Hurt really badly at the time, but now I don't have that hanging over me anymore.

C-C-C-C-C-Combo breaker!!

Saturday, I will be smoking a chuck roast atop a bed of onions, bell peppers, jalapenos, and garlic.  Should be bitchin'.

Also, alcohol.

Upon an initial grazing over that post, I thought you said you would be smoking crack atop a bed of onions, bell peppers, jalapenos, and garlic.

That would, indeed, be bitchin'.

That sounds awesome.  The jalapenos and garlic alone would do it for me.

Thanks. All is fine now, as I said, but at the time it was pretty shitty that the oldest friend I had could just throw it all away so easily. Part of growing, I guess, is realizing who your friends really are and keeping them around longer than the ones who aren't.

What up fellow losers nerds?
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

What's up, Jay?

Tis been a great day at home (compared to the hurricane like BS I've been dealing with the last week). Chilaxing before bowling tonight.

Oh and I passed my physical for my job yesterday!

I'm blowing through season 2 of Lost. So far it's still pretty fucking good, though I'm really curious about that doomsday device in the bunker. No spoilers please!  :lol

A bass player/guitarist from the local scene is looking to do danceable fun shit from the 80's and such. The kinda stuff I'd want to play. Stoked. Things like Here I Go Again or I Don't Wanna Change The World or other things like this.
