Yup. I'll be 48. Where did the time go. I'm meeting up tomorrow night with my brother and my best friend. We've been friends since we were 10 years old.

I'm with you there. My mom passed away in February and it was a blessing in disguise that she passed away the day before my sister in law's birthday. I would not want the burden on her knowing her birthday was the same day her mother in law passed away.

I tried staying away from Facebook this year because of the annual mourning of my siblings and children. So I just opened it up and sure enough I had 8 likes of this photo I posted of him two years ago!

I don't handle death well. I can't see people suffering or hurt or listen to kids crying. I'm severely empathic with that stuff. It's why I hate going to hospitals, funerals, or general elections.

Sorry, I have to add humor in. It's my masking technique. Some people say that it's rude to smile or laugh at a funeral or wake, but I think it's exactly what people need during such dark times.
