This morning was one of those mornings when apparently my dreams, which I do not recall, had a negative effect on me because I got up feeling very uneasy and upset, with no inkling as to exactly why.

Kids are up and eating breakfast. We'll be out the door in about 25 minutes.

I wish I had more dreams about women, even the googly eyed variety. :(

Instead I dreamed I was failing at school, then went to some kind of mall to rent time in a tiny holodeck, then some people looked at my drawings when I didn't want them to, and I cried and it made the colours run and suddenly the drawings looked awesome.
Then I started singing a song in my dream, then I woke up and realized I was singing it to the tune of the Stargate movie overture.

:blob:

Do you want to hear something fucked up? The girl that I was dating after my wife and I separated basically tore my heart into a million pieces after I turned my life upside down just to prove to her I wasn't like every other guy who screwed her over. She basically destroyed everything inside me to the point that I lost the desire for everything I enjoy and lost about 50 pounds in the last year and a half. I hadn't dreamt of her in months. It was the dreams I had after she left that really messed with my head even more. I managed to stop having them thankfully. However, one night last week I was on the couch and it was still a bit cold in the apartment so I grabbed the blanket that she left at my place and fell asleep with it on me. I had the most vivid dream about her that night. It was actually disturbing that the first night I used that blanket since she left, I have the first dream of her in months. I still get freaked out thinking about it.

Morning.  Slept like shit as well.  I'm guessing since my boss will be here Wednesday and Thursday my mind was on work overdrive.

:lol  Can't have that.  I'll beer it up though my wife and I are going out to dinner with him and we're taking him the the Smuttynose restaurant called Hayseed.  It's right next to the plant.

Morning, Reap. I know how you feel. I would probably miss my couch if I went away and had to sleep elsewhere.

Correct, drug test and you lose your job.

I hear you. That's really the only reason not to do that.   :lol

I can tell you the last 2 times for me.  Both in 1994.  Pink Floyd concert and my bachelor party.

Watching Forged In Fire for the first time...it's like Chopped for metalsmiths.

I love chopped so I will definitely have to check this out.

It was interesting, but it definitely doesn't have the same energy of Chopped. It's obvious that they don't go deep into the nuances and specifics of metalworking and the timetable for the event is much larger than that for Chopped, as would be expected. As a result the tension and "competition" isn't as intense, so while the content and metalworking is definitely interesting, it wasn't nearly as entertaining as I'd hoped it'd be. I would have loved to see them go more into the different strategies and techniques used, rather than just throwing the contestants into a competition and narrating the events.

Maybe if it gains some traction they'll develop it a bit more. It's obvious it is targeting much more of a niche audience than cooking does.

Speaking of drug tests, I actually have to take one for my new position, but I've been putting it off because of the sheer amount of cold medicine coursing through my system. Decongestants and cough suppressants can cause all sorts of false positives that I really don't want showing up.

I've only done it once, actually. I'm due for a new hobby, so we'll see.  ;)

Well, they gave me two tickets to work on today since the subway sites are consecutive stops on the "C" line.  I'm heading out so I'll catch up with everyone later.

Next few weeks are going to be pretty chill, hopefully. My boss is out of the office until March, at a conference this week and on vacation the next, so I should be able to churn through a lot of stuff. Friday alone I was able to build and schedule 3 months of marketing emails and set up some targeting campaigns. I'm about to push out an information send and then delve into a larger project that got pushed to the back when the material for this week's conference came to the front.

I love being my own manager and having full control over the marketing scheme.

Morning Hef.

I like that power too but I still want to prove to my boss that I can do a great job and that is the nervousness I feel with him coming.

So nice to be riding again. Still a bit frosty but it was 5pm. I'll wrap up much warmer if it's still nice out tomorrow afternoon.

Morning peeples
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Man, it got beautiful out. 64° and sunny. Just ran out to pick up some lunch with the windows down and the sunroof open. Now my office window is open while I work. Love it.

Chain came of the bike as I was going up a hill. Managed to freewheel back down into a car park and put it back on.

Gonna try and tighten it tomorrow or at least take a link out of it.

While driving today, the first world designer in me had a mild conniption. A jeep in front of me had a Maryland flag spare tire cover, however whoever designed it put a boxed, default, unchanged Photoshop Bevel/Emboss on every individual segment of the flag. It was like staring at a 13 year old's first attempt at "Photoshop wizardry." And the guy probably paid money for it...ugh.

Things like that curdle my blood a tiny bit.
