Watching Forged In Fire for the first time...it's like Chopped for metalsmiths.
I love chopped so I will definitely have to check this out.
It was interesting, but it definitely doesn't have the same energy of Chopped. It's obvious that they don't go deep into the nuances and specifics of metalworking and the timetable for the event is much larger than that for Chopped, as would be expected. As a result the tension and "competition" isn't as intense, so while the content and metalworking is definitely interesting, it wasn't nearly as entertaining as I'd hoped it'd be. I would have loved to see them go more into the different strategies and techniques used, rather than just throwing the contestants into a competition and narrating the events.
Maybe if it gains some traction they'll develop it a bit more. It's obvious it is targeting much more of a niche audience than cooking does.
Speaking of drug tests, I actually have to take one for my new position, but I've been putting it off because of the sheer amount of cold medicine coursing through my system. Decongestants and cough suppressants can cause all sorts of false positives that I really don't want showing up.
