Hey everyone, nice of you guys to be so kind. Going through a bit of a tough time and thought maybe the community would be helpful. I won't be posting a ton, but here and there.

Also, as far as I know, Volk got married and is doing well. I haven't really spoken to Rina much since we broke up. However, as of 2014, she was doing quite well from what she told me.

Good to see all of you. :)
Great to hear from you, pal!

Me too after I counsel someone.  Fun times.

I sure hope he's not being counseled for surfing the internet while on the clock! ;D

When this kid does not call out 2 days in less than a month we'll talk about the management job he will never have. Also, it's good to be the King.

Good evening peeps.

Ok its 1am... but still evening ;)
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

We just had a bit of rain, don't think it is now though. Although it's hard to tell over the sound of the fan and my computer which sounds like a jet engine.

That's coming my way.  So warm for this time of year too!

So my plumber friend is coming over today to bail me out.

Blob, is that normal to be so loud?  I was disgusted to see all the dust inside of my computer.  I need to blow it our more often.

Why is your machine so loud? What do you have running inside it...besides a jet engine?

Yes. It's supposed to about 60F degrees today...15.5C for everyone else in the world.

There's CPU fan, GPU fan (which is small), a 140mm fan on top, 2x 120mm fans on the front, plus 2 HDDs. It adds up. On top of that, the CPU fan is pushed harder during the Summer months when it's hotter, and even further when I'm doing graphics work that works the CPU harder.
It isn't that loud, but it's enough to mask the sound of light to moderate rain outside.

We had freezing rain almost all evening last night... gonna be 14C here today - potentially breaking the all-time high for any day in the month of February.

Not that I'm complaining.

I'm used to it, it's comforting. And my sound card has a relay in it when you switch pre-amps (ie. I switch from headphones to speakers, or turning the computer on/off), and it makes a loud double clickity clack noise from the card. It scared the crap out of me when I first got it, but apparently it's supposed to sound like that. :lol
At least my monitor doesn't make the high pitched 15khz CRT noise now.

It's been a weird year for weather.  No complaints though.

I'll be building a new computer soon.  I just need to get the old one running to move a few things around then I'll buy the new motherboard, running hard drive.  I just want to surf and download stuff fast.

My latest build has (2) 120mm fans on the front, (2) on the bottom, (1) in the back, and (4) on the top for the CPU liquid cooler. Of course the video card has it's own fan as well. Because all of the new components are amazingly efficient, the fans never turn above their minimum rpms and the machine stays cool. It is, without a doubt, the quietest and coolest machine I've ever had in here. The last one would raise the ambient room temperature by 10 degrees in about 15 minutes. If I was gaming it would make the room unbearably hot.

Yep, my one definitely warms up the room. Fantastic in Winter, awful in Summer. :lol
My CPU is very efficient for what it is, but no fancy liquid cooling for me, just the stock Intel fan, which works fine. My case has an extra 120 (or is it 140?) fan on the back, but I've never had it plugged in for some reason, probably the noise. It also has room for another 120mm fan in the side, but I don't need one there. My GPU has a tiny fan on a heatsink, because it runs very efficiently, and I never push my graphics card at all (which may surprise people).
The main thing is that I'm constantly pushing my CPU with rendering. That will easily harness all four cores at 100% if I let it, which heats it up fast.
