Yea, Jay don't leave us hanging and be a whore-jerk! I think we should be told.

What is that, Bb? At least go to G, man.

And when is Bandcamp going to add a damn volume control? Pain in the butt.

Yes, King was right. I took the test FOR the job. I feel confident that I passed.

Also, my shift turned interesting today. It involved saving a family who were stuck in a broken down elevator, a dude stealing beer, and a couple screwing in public. I actually started a thread on it. Hahaha
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I'll go see it if Peter Gabriel and Sting both wear the flower headpiece on stage.

So you're saying you're not a Sting fan then eh? :lol

I'm not saying that at all. I've never really listened to him, but he's up there with Bowie as far as musical ingenuity. I would love to see a Sting and Gabriel tour. I'm a big fan of Peter's.

:coolio Thanks !! As I said - filthy songs are more fun to record - but a lot harder to mix.

You want to add some fuzz to the bass - but you also want the twang so you get definition.

I like punch and dirt and fuzz but I also like clarity and definition.

It's a balancing act.

Making songs with clean guitars is so much easier. I've also found out how to make MIDI bass sound like a real bass - and that cleans up really nicely too.

You can't use MIDI bass for heavy tracks - the low end and the punch just isn't there.

I feel your pain.

It's seriously the worst. Every morning when my alarm goes off, it's just a little more disheartening than the day before. I get nothing out of my time here. There's not a single element of this job I look forward to other than the ability to survive consumerism. Every day I ask myself if I'd be happier doing something I loved for a third of what I make now.

I enjoy heading out into the field for the day. I do what I have to do and the rest of the day is mine, unless they call me with another problem. It would be really hard for me to complain about the amount of places to check out while in Manhattan. Once in a while I don't mind staying in the office, just to change it up a bit, but I think I would kill my boss if that happened on a daily basis. He gets on my nerves sometimes.

All of the money I've made in the past year has been from drawing icons, and making fake videogames. Hoping to make more of it this year though.

Still working on it. Progress has been coming along. I'm about 50% there in terms of being able to bring product to market. I need about $1000 worth of additional items to get everything up and running to full capacity. Every time I'm looking good, the dog winds up with a $300 vet bill, my car needs $500 worth of crap done to it, or the house needs some expensive love. I also just put a good amount of money into the stock market a few weeks ago too. I could have used that I guess.

I'd like to have everything going by the end of February, but that deadline is starting to not look realistic. I'm very big on not buying stuff with credit. I got my first credit card when I bought my house, and I only use it for emergency/unexpected costs that I'd rather not take a chunk out of my savings for. However, for the sake of getting my little project done and actually producing something I can sell, I'm seriously debating just putting a grand's worth of equipment on my Amex card.

I'm the same with credit Chino, a grand isn't that much though, you just have to be careful not to fall into the trap of putting everything on credit.

I just finished up BC&SL disc 1 on my chronological trip through DT discography. It's been so long since I listened to it that I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed TCOT!  :metal

I'll probably finish up this afternoon or tomorrow so the timing should be right for the new album!

I don't care.

I randomly went thru almost the entire discog - live and studio - just have I&W to make it complete.  I only have LALP and BTFW on Bluray, so I didn't get to those.  Also ran thru a few boots that I have, and Ytsejam releases.  It's been a DT packed month.
