I don't find it irritating, I find it hilarious. I've often told Mrs. P that if I ever saw women standing around like the do in magazines I'd lose it. You know what? It's true, I did.

Copenhagen is full of beautiful people. Fashion forward, beautiful people. Fashion forward, beautiful people with a very high standard of living. Between the famous Nyhavn district and Tivoli is a shopping district with super upscale clothing stores and such. We were strolling through there one weekday morning about the time folks were going to their office jobs or department store jobs...I've never seen so much swishing, pursed lips, perfect hair, bored looks and dead eyes. And that's just the men. It was amazing and, once the shock of it wore off, funny. I sat on a bench and quietly laughed myself sore while Mrs. P stood off to the side and just watched with a tiny smile on her face.

In a certain shopping district in Copenhagen, that is real life walking. I've witnessed it.

Still cracks me up just thinking about it.

BTW, I find Danes to be wonderful and generous folks. Always willing to help out a stranger and unfailingly polite. Still, it's like they never smile. I was so impressed when I got a server at a beer garden to smile that I made Mrs. P take a picture of us.

That's what passes for a smile in Denmark.

I hesitate to bring this up on the DT side because of the potential for a shit storm, but I've been having fun imagining how geeked out MP would have been with The Astonishing project. I mean, it just seems like something right up his alley. The concept, the visuals, the unique tour, the venues, everything just seems like it would have had him jumping up and down with excitement.

Anyway, just a random thought.

In the mid 80's my dad went to school for work in Durham and he told me the same thing. Everything shut down. For us up in the east, no big whoop. I'd bet I'd lose my mind living in Buffalo with all that snow.

We got an inch of snow last week and I was getting bundled up to go push the shovel around. It's not enough to bother with the thrower. Mrs. P said, "Hang on a second while I check the weather." She looked and her phone and told me not to bother since it was going to be above freezing for the next few days. It just wasn't worth bothering with.
