My nan is 85(ish) and it's a decent travel for her to visit, so every time she does I worry it might be the last. All you can do is make the most of your time with them, so that once they're gone you still have those memories.

I lost my mom 5 years ago. Though the sting is less, I still think about her daily. I sometimes well up. It never goes away. I try to honor her every day.

Yup. Think of the things she loved to do. For us as a family it was getting together. I was my mom's favorite thing when we were all together as a family so we do our best to have dinner once in a while and do things as a family together.

I also made a promise when my mom was in the hospital to never have a cigar again. She died of lung cancer and though I never was a cigarette smoker, I loved cigars. Well, it's been 5 years since I've had one. It's the least I could do for my mom.

My cafe where I work has amazingly delicious filter coffee.

I can't drink coffee without milk but it is so more-ish.

I make pretty damn good coffee. It's all about the ratio and realizing that not every blend should have the same exact amount of teaspoons added.

My taste in grounds is getting stronger and stronger

I use a Cafetiere and milk in the microwave for 2 mins in a plastic jug with a lid so I can shake it to make it foamy.

It's so delicious.

I tried heating it in a saucepan and whisking it but the plastic jug / microwave method is quicker and tastes better.

Don't have to scrub milk off the pan either.

I don't own a microwave and I'm happier that way, so how would you recommend making the foamed milk? I think I'll be doing that when I get home.

Boil it in a saucepan on the hob and whisk it constantly. When the milk starts to rise. It's done.

Will take like 2 minutes.

I grilled a couple of 1/4lb burgers - chuck the buns in for a couple of minutes at the end and threw on a couple of pre-sliced cheddar cheese.

Plus ketchup.

I had one of those in my nose
