Morning.  It's Friday.

I go back to the Atari 2600.  I loved Combat.

Two weeks until the new DT album drops.  Started listening to WDADU on the way to work this morning.  I'm going to try to listen to all the studio albums between now and the 29th.  We'll see how much progress I actually make lol

I'm going to do that next week while working. It's been at least a year since I've listened to any of the Dt albums.

I'm gonna top that, and include things like the cover albums of Made In Japan and Number of the Beast, Lifting Shadows disc, Cleaning Out The Closet, Christmas '98, When Images and Words Unite, and a handful of boots that I have as well.  It's going to be pretty immersive in DT for the next couple of weeks.

My ears are ready!

I was working in midtown today, right by Lincoln Center, so I walked in The Julliard Store. I could have easily spent my whole paycheck in there. Between the CDs, books, and memoribilia, it could have got really ugly.

Everything was expensive though. It was $30 for a t-shirt and $90 for some small book about Mozart. I'm going to Barnes and Noble later to look for the same book.

I'm finally using my new 3Tb hard drive I got for Christmas. I had to get a new external enclosure to use it because my old one didn't support drives larger than 2Tb. I'm backing up everything to it now. I've only copied over about about 80Gb so far, that's just my documents, not even my work stuff.
I'll still use the old external backup too for extra protection, but I'll probably have to stop backing up movies and videos to that one so I have enough space.

My 3D work folder is right on 500Gb. That's only stuff I've made myself (excluding 10Gb for some stock models I've got saved to use as a basis). Graphics takes up space!

I know.  I remember at my old job how big some of those 3D CAD files were.

I know.  I remember at my old job how big some of those 3D CAD files were. 

For me it's not so much the 3D project files themselves that are so huge (average of maybe 20mb each, but that adds up too), it's mostly the image files for textures, renders, and videos. The textures are all layered PSD files that can be up to 100-200mb each, then the raw 3D renders are a few Mb's each x 10,000 for a few minutes of video, plus the final exported lossless video file which is over 1gb per minute. And this isn't even full HD. It's no wonder I needed a new drive to back it all up, but I still need it all to reuse assets in future projects and refer back to how I did certain things.

My computer went to silent mode and now won't start. It's getting power but won't turn on.

Been there several times. I think I've had PSU cause that (had so many die on me), also had CPU, maybe motherboard too, as I know I've had one of them die too.
