Today, as I was leaving for school, I noticed that a considerable amount of ice had built up on my windshield. Unable to find my ice scraper and running late as it was. I decided that I would try to clear off the ice by using my windshield wipers. This was dumb idea number one. Dumb Idea number two was trying to do that while driving. It was all going pretty well until I ran into a road island that i couldn't see through the portion of my windshield that was cleared of ice. I'm okay, and my car is okay with the exception of the front driver's side tire simply exploding. Obviously this whole ordeal made me even more late and now in need of a new tire.

Moral(s) of the story: An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. When it comes to cars, never be in a rush.

I just don't want to deal with people professionally, ever, because that shit stresses me the fuck out. I have been so far behind on Doctor Who this season, but I having been on a tear this week. Last night I finished episode 10, where apparently SPOILER ALERT Clara died.

I think I only have the season's 2-part finale and the Christmas episode to go.

Oh man, you're in for a treat! Not to hype it, but the next episode is one of those all time great episodes (ok, that is totally hyping it

). The finale is also excellent. Even the Christmas episode pulled it together beautifully at the end, and I was expecting to hate the episode from the trailer.

Yeah, I'm right with you there. I expect by the end of next season he'll have done enough episodes to make it to the top for me. This season was really strong, aside from Sleep No More, which was apparently disliked enough that in the end of year Doctor Who survey from the BBC, it actually said "It’s certainly been interesting to know about your favourite moments, props and monsters as well as the things that you didn’t like so much (we took the message on ‘Sleep No More’!)."

The thing is I don't even want more time at this point, I want to forget about it forever. The more I think about it, the less confident I am I can do it given more time. I feel like I couldn't do it how they want it given another month, and neither of us have another month for this. They have a hard deadline at some point, and I have other work to do, which would have been fine if I'd managed this work on time, but not if I have to spend more time on it.
But I also can't think of anything worse than having to say "hey I know today is the due date on this work I said I would do, but I give up because I actually suck and probably screwed you over because you thought I was capable of doing simple work". There's no way to word it that isn't essentially that, because that's what it is. I'll never be able to do work for them again.

I don't know. While driving from home to the office I thought of some stupid, smart-assed response to your dilemma (that probably would only be funny to me) but, now I sense that you're truly struggling with it.

The best I can think of is to be honest and say something like.

I really thought this project would be a good fit and I took it on in good faith and with the best of intentions. It turns out that you'd be better off with a different artist so I'm withdrawing my services. I realize that this will put you in a bad situation at this late hour and I apologize for that.

Sorry, Blob, I wish I had something better but this is probably the way I'd do it.
