I showed what I had so far to the guy and the response was basically that it was all wrong and didn't match what they wanted.

So basically restarting from scratch even though I was already too far behind to finish in reasonable time. Fuck it.

I wish I hadn't even taken this work. I already had too much other work to get done on time, and I'm clearly not suited to do this. I just didn't want to be a flake and say no, but now I'm going to be a flake and a failure.

And it's going to be too hot to get any work done here until Friday.

Bleh, I don't know. All 3 of the shots are completely wrong. I was struggling to work with their ideas as it was, and I'd just spent two days on something I was finally half happy with, and now it turns out what I did with those ideas was completely wrong. I don't even know why I'm doing this. I'm pretty sure it's just token work to humour me, and I still can't manage it.

And why the fuck are these people still here? We were stuck babysitting my niece, and then her dad came to pick her up, then when they got in the car it started raining, so they decided to get out and wait it out. First of all, you have a huge fucking 4x4. Secondly, it's rain, not a hurricane. Thirdly, it stopped raining like 10 minutes ago. Fuck off and stop eating all of our food.

I'm not in a good mood today, not my usual cheery self.

I'm so rarely of use to anyone, and then the few times I try, I fail and reaffirm why I don't bother trying in the first place, because I know I'm of no use to anyone. It's a vicious cycle.

I don't think I'll be able to dust myself off after the decision I'm heavily leaning towards. I can't see myself being able to do this work, but quitting would be the most shameful thing I've voluntarily done, and just validate my feeling of being useless. And the fact I'm moping over something that anyone else would take in stride and just get on with makes me feel even more useless.

I count my blessings that I survived a 2 year ordeal with cancer. It wasn't easy for sure. This came up so fast with Bowie but obviously he was hiding it for the public eye. I just saw his new video Saturday and thought, "How cool is this guy still making music that is so fresh to me".
