Hello to everyone who have said "Morning"...can't keep up with all these new posts!

jingle.boy - Ah okay! Thanks! I generally avoided 95% of the threads in the DT side that weren't that chat thread anyway!

But that's where all the old people talked!

Morning chaps, mates and chumps.
Afternoon (oh how I've missed this game)!

Hey, hows your face after that accident?
It's fine! It was the bloody surgery that I had a few weeks later that made my face swell up like a balloon :lol

The swelling has mostly gone down now, thankfully. You can still see it a little bit but unless you're looking for it, it's not obvious. My cheek bone is also in the correct place now which is a bonus.

But that's where all the old people talked!

Now all the old people talk here. The DT side chat thread was for noobs. You know, people who still listened to DT. :neverusethis:

And who does that, right? :neverusethis:

I haven't listened to any new DT stuff in a while but I also haven't listened to any new stuff from most bands in a while, to be honest. For the last few years, I've only really heard one or two new albums (new to me, at least) per year...I'm getting pretty lazy.

I went a few years without checking out much new music, but I've listened to a bit more lately. I still don't listen to much new music compared to a lot of people here though. Ain't nobody got time for that with my busy busy lifestyle.

ADSL2+. On a good day I can get 17mbit but of course that doesn't happen very often.

They still make that?   ;)

I refer you to my earlier post-

Australia. Enough said.

The technology goes there. Why are they so reluctant to share it?

That's the problem really. When I was a student and walked 45 minutes each way to work/university, I had plenty of time to listen to new music. Don't have that any more with a full time job etc. Joys of being an adult :(

When I used to drive to work, I would never get the chance to check out new music. Now that I use public transportation all day long, there is an endless amount of time to check new things out.

I have to admit, I was skeptical but I thought "You know? It's been so long since I've been here, a lot of things will have changed. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt".

I was clearly mistaken.

Thanks. It was a pain in the ass to match the look of the original. Every panel has its own texture map, gloss map, and reflection map, and a global environment map. I had to hand paint all of the subtle worn off plating on the front.

The tarnish, is just the right color. It's so difficult to keep it from turning out red once you add lighting...at least it used to be for me. Of course, with modern programs you may be painting the texture directly to the model for all I know.  :lol

I don't know why it would turn out red. :lol But I find anything yellowy/goldy difficult, because that hue just shades weirdly. I'm still having some trouble stopping this from looking mustardy in the crevices. I've spent way too long on this one model, I'll probably never get this project done.

you you
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
