It's only the external backup that's running out of space, and that's because I have a 2Tb drive to backup 3Tb of internal storage. I'm thinking of asking for a 3Tb drive for Christmas for a new backup. I still have 700Gb free on my internal drives.

You probably don't even understand half of the technobabble stuff.
Basically I can guarantee my monitor will have perfect brightness and colour, exactly how it's supposed to look. I'm not sure whether I'll get the hardware calibrator now or later, since these things come from the factory damn near perfectly calibrated anyway.
