I need help, and quick!!  Buddy of mine is a bourbon guy, and he's taking me to a whisky tasting tonight.  It's his birthday as well.  I was thinking of surprising him with a bottle of bourbon as a trip for the road.   What's good?  What's a good price range?   Initial thought was $50; is that reasonable/unreasonable?  High?  Low?

Booker's. It's a little more expensive than $50  and also try Angel's Envy.

Finally off antibiotics and in with both feet for the first time since I got back from Vermont. Got home and immediately grabbed a Sprang from Trillium Brewery (a hoppy kolsch). Followed that up with a Focal Banger and now a Holy Cow from The Alchemist (pale ale and IPA respectively). Next up will be sneaking a can of Hill Farmstead Society and Solitude #2 (black double IPA) into the movies with me.
Photobucket sucks.

Just got to Miami and it's raining.  What a downer for our one night (free too since I burned my free yearly night on a really nice south beach hotel) here before we do the Everglades National Park tomorrow and move onto the keys.  I expect to just start boozing soon since there's not much else going on besides partying in doors with this weather.  We got a bottle of grey goose in the room.

Grey Goose is my favorite vodka.  A dirty Grey Goose martini sounds like heaven right now.  Cheers.

To save some coin and still have the same experience from your vodka martini (actually called a Kangaroo), I recommend Monopalowa. Probably the best tasting spirit for the money ever.

In. Angel's Envy Rum Barrel Finished Rye and a single ice cube!

Hey thanks for the recommendation!  I love trying new brands.  I tend to get stuck sometimes.  I also like Ketel One vodka.

Maybe I should start another thread but I'd love to hear favorite brands of hard liquor, especially ones that are reasonably priced.  Aside from the Grey Goose, I also love Herradura tequila and Basil Hayden bourbon.

Under $50 I'd consider.   Under $30 I'd definitely try.

This probably makes me look cheap.  Haha.  I don't drink a whole lot so when I do, I like the good stuff.  Especially if I'm just sipping.  I'm not a huge fan of what I call frou-frou drinks.

Glenmorangie 10 is my favourite reasonably priced bottle of single malt. Goes for $60 CDN, so it would be under $50 USD.
