Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Nope...I'm a scientist, so pocket protector, short-sleeved button-down short and big plastic glasses with medical tape on the bridge.

My wife and I joke about how they always pull out a bottle at work with 2 jars.  I need that at work but I'd get fired. :lol

Ardbeg Uigeadail, probably the best scotch I've ever had. Need to switch to lesser liquors/beers soon since it's quite a pricey bottle.

Finished off the Glenmorangie 12 port finish.

I just cracked open a bottle of Maker's 46 that I bought today. I'm having a touch of it neat, to get a taste for it, and finding it quite different that standard Maker's Mark. It's much darker for one thing and less...polished? Tamed? It has a woodiness that hangs around in your nose for a few minutes after a sip.

This would be terrific on the rocks with a nice cigar while watching the moon come up over the mountains.

I'm really missing summer, right now...

I have a hard time with the super-peaty scotchs. A bartender at 'The Last Hurrah' in Boston, gave me a finger of Ardbeg (I don't recall the specific variety) and it was just too much for me. I can barely finish a dram of Lagavulin even if I cut it with a few straws of water.

Have you always enjoyed the "Islay" whiskeys, orcus116? Or did it take awhile to get into them?

Still in.

I've switched over to Russell Reserve Rye. Not bad but less exciting than the previous drams. More on the sidling up to the saloon cowboy whiskey side I suppose. It would probably make a good Manhattan.
