I really like it, King!

I just got back from the bottle shop (where I was shocked to find it prominently displayed in the Scotch aisle of all places) and poured about half-a-finger.

It's strong, and the first sip gives a good alcohol wallop. But then, some oak flavor rises, followed by a dark bitter nut flavor. After a few sips, everything mellows and the sweetness starts to come forward. Very caramel scent to it.

This would be very good cut with a little water and ice. It makes me want to rush out and buy a cigar too.

In, vanilla bead old fashioned.  Muddle a 1" sq of orange peel (pith removed), a 2" piece of vanilla bean (slit open) and three dashes of bitters.  Add 1 tbsp simple syrup, 1/2 cup bourbon, ice, and a marachino cherry.  Then, be amazed at how the vanilla notes in bourbon and an actual vanilla bean play off one another.

Also, now on my third glass of merlot.

On the rocks. Perfect description to the tee!  The oak you talk about has a slight burnt coffee from the stout.

Anyone had Bell's Two Hearted Ale? I think it's one of the better IPA's that I've had, and it's a fairly popular one here in the Midwest

Huh, I live 15 minutes from the High West Distillery and Saloon. I've been there many times and tasted a lot of their blends, but I've never heard of that one until now!  :lol

Their Rendezvous Rye and Bourye are favorites of mine.

Yeah, I don't think it's in regular production from them, not sure though tbh as I'm not that knowledgeable about whiskey. I don't drink a ton of liquor, but that Midwinter Night's Dram and Angel's Envy rye are my jams.

Have you ever guys had redwine mixed with pork? Tastes really good!
I've been drinking beer since I was 18 and dabbled since I was 16. I have at least 500 beer bottles in my collection and love the fancy shit though my wallet doesn't. I'll drink liquor not even five times a year including shots or mixed drinks. Jack Daniels and Coke is an easy go-to for me. Very smooth nads candy sweet.

I'm sure it is in regular production since they prominently list it on their website, but it's not surprising that I've never run into it. You see, our liquor stores in Utah are state controlled. They decide what is stocked in the stores and apparently that one didn't make the list. I literally can't go to the distillery and buy a bottle. I'd need to special order it through the State store and they may have a minimum order so I'd wind up with a case of it!  :lol

What I can do, is drive up to Park City and sit at the saloon and ask for a glass of it. Which is now in my plans!  :)

Ah. The place I bought mine hasn't re-stocked it so I figured it was a once in a while kind of deal. Let me know what you think of it when you try it. I had some other High West stuff at a whiskey bar out in Vegas, and while my memory isn't totally reliable, I think I remember liking them, but not as much as this one.
