The liquor store up the street from me didn't have any Beam. I was majorly pissed off.

I'm already in a few glasses of whisky, so my posts should be approaching Kinginese soon.

Heading out for the symphony tonight but because this is what's on tap music wise, I'm going to keep it simple and just have a Negra Modelo.

As is my tradition for Christmas Eve Day. Kahlua in my coffee.

I don't know why, but I always think of Carly Simon's "Your So Vain". ♫♪ I had a dream there was Kahlua in my coffee. Kahlua in my coffee ♪♫

Excellent.  Great combination, really.  I do that sometimes.

There's a place we hit up in Ocean City, Maryland when we go for our yearly "week-at-the-beach" excursion, called Seacrets.  It sits right on the bay (OCMD is basically a huge arm of land that terminates at the southern end with an inlet from the Atlantic.  The entire city sits between the Atlantic and Assawoman Bay.  So this place is one of my favorite places to go.  They have a dock that you can boat right up to, they have a boatload of intertubes moored out in the bay waters, so you can lounge in the sun and bikini clad waitresses will come out and bring more drinks.  They also have tables and benches affixed in the bay waters, so you can sit and eat with your feet in the water.  They have a number of specialty drinks on the menu, one of them being the Jamaican Bobslide, an offshoot of a traditional mudslide, I guess.

It's a frozen drink, consisting of equal parts Kahlua, Bailey's, vanilla vodka, and double espresso vodka, ground up in the blender with ice.  They pour some Kahlua in the bottom of the cup, then fill with the frozen mix.  DAMN tasty.  You could just drink the mix straight or on the rocks, but it's a tad sweet.  Good nonetheless, tho.

Being a state employee, we're authorized to leave 4 hours early.  If I put my lunch hour on top of that, I'm out of here at 11:30 and won't be back until January 4th.  Booyah.  So I'm heading to the store for a few odds and ends after I leave work, which I KNOW will be a very bad idea, but there's things I gotta get.  While I'm out, I'm swinging by the local pizza joint for a mix-a-six.  Hopefully something good will come of it, but I'm not holding my breath.  Most places are obviously stocking an abundance of spiced crap winter beers.

So while I'm at the grocery store, I think I'm going to treat myself to a bottle (yes, ONE bottle) of Delirium Tremens.  It's touted as one of the best beers in the world, and I've heard good things about it from people I know, so it's time to try it.  The $14/bottle price tag hurts, as I could buy a very large bottle of cheap whiskey for the same price, but eh.  Whatever.

To steal a line from Axel Foley .... "$14!?!?  I can get blown for $14!"  Although back in 1987, it was $7.

Got some Egg nog in the fridge, and Godiva chocolate liqueur chilling in the bar fridge.  The two go very well together.  I'm feeling a trip in the hot-tub this afternoon with a tall one of those.

Oh, that reminds me, I made a half batch of Alton Brown's Aged Eggnog last night.  It made enough to almost fill a 1.75 liter bottle.  Much alcohol.  I've made it before and it is yum:

The first time I ever had Delirium Tremens was at the Gulu Gulu Cafe in Salem. There was so many good drinks on that menu. I remember having some absinthe based drink, also.  The wife (at the time) and I drank our way through Salem that week.
