Literally 4 times as much sugar as hot sauce?

Yep.  keep in mind that confectioner's sugar is 50/50 corn starch and sugar, so you get sweetness and thickening.

Yeah, it's weird, but it works.

Is the sauce just hot sauce and powdered sugar? Seems like it'd make a paste. Tell me more please.

The recipe actually calls it a tabasco slurry.  It's thicker than normal hot sauce, but is still runs, and you can drizzle it.

My wife will blog it in the next couple of days, I'll link it here.

Thanks brah. I can borrow some hot sauce from my step dad cuz he has an arsenal of shit that puts Tabasco™ to shame. I say this as a Louisianian too so I'm not hating on my home state's product due to bias but rather from a childhood rife with Tabasco consumption.

Don't worry...tabasco is generally pretty overrrated, too much vinegar.  But in this case, the vinegar balances nicely with the sugar.

Why did Miss Piggy douche with sugar and vinegar?

So Kermit's fingers would smell like sweet and sour pork.

Not too bad. To be fair, I've had a handful of these caramel porters sitting around for a few years. Just trying to get rid of them.

Had a couple of glasses of this one last night:

I don't very often drink classic French red wine (Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah), and this definitely is classic, but I really enjoyed it. Lovely fruits, great mediterranean warmth.

I think we were talking about Ryes recently, weren't we? For High West, "Rendezvous" gets all the accolades (and the money)--it is fantastic and has some interesting finish notes--but really, their more affordable "Double Rye" is a must try as well.

I don't drink much during the week.

Actually, for the amount I love alcoholic beverages and the stock of my bar, I don't drink nearly enough.

I'm having a similar problem cutting down my backlog of beer. I used to drink almost every night, but I recently cut it down to, barring a special event, just Friday through Sunday.
Photobucket sucks.
