So the contention is that, because the band is doing something highly unusual and very ambitious, but happens to not have as many stormtrooper riffs, the band has become easy-listening because they're older?

That is sooo...fucking...stupid.

Guys, most of Pippo's reviews are hilarious. Don't take it too serious.

As an Italian living in Tuscany, I am convinced that not one person from Tuscany has, had or will ever have a distinguished accent. Quite the opposite, actually.  :lol

Are you saying that if I learn italian (which is in fact in my plans because I love learning languages) I will be able to understand everyone in the whole country, unlike German (which I'm currently learning)?

It depends on them. If they want you to understand them then you will understand. Otherwise you will hardly catch a word. We are known to enjoy high-speed speaking  :lol
As for the regional variations, they can be wide ranging, but unless the speaker starts deploying his hometown's dialect, you are theoretically safe. The inflection might be very different, though, and that can be confusing at first.

Sciropparsi sounds like the fancier man's whahibrido.
Naw, Sciropparsi is like Magnum. Whahibrido is Blue Steel.

Sorry to spoil the fun by translating but the verb comes from the italian word for syrup, sciroppo. It means having to put up with something that bores you, like you would "syrup down" a movie you don't care for but your girlfriend wants you to see it.

Does the author mean that DT has no intention playing metal because of their fans? (boyfriend going to a film his girlfriend wants that?). Or does he mean he himself has to drag trough this album because he expected to do so?

Either way, it is fine someone does not like non-metal DT. It really is. And I know there are plenty of people that think the other way around as well. And as long as people word their opinions well, I know their reviews do not apply to my tastes.

I will just tell you that sometimes it's even hard to understand people living 30-40 miles away from you
In Italy we probably have 40-50 accents

Well, I guess the fact that brazilian portuguese is my native language is a good start as I could understand a good chunk of those reviews without translation :)

Actually, they've planted hints of The Astonishing since their beginnings. The Killing Hand, Metropolis Part 1 and Part 2, Blind Faythe, Octavarium, The Count of Tuscany and Outcry.
