How is Arhys pronounced?

Are-is
or as in the Zodiac sign Aries?

It's not out yet. How do you know?
Legally thru proper and official people. I don't nor respect any other way of getting music, film etc.

I agree.  I always buy. (I do listen early on occasions for certain bands that I am really into.)   I always buy the physical releases though.  Not big on digital.  Support bands if you are a fan. Damn, The Astonishing for under a $20 cd price that you can keep.....................to me priceless.

I have too many friends that are in bands, some popular and some that I guess you can call.......well put out albums that have become a bit popular in the non mainstream culture. Bands in both those categories get hurt by the illegal downloads. Most bands do not make shit on album sales.  Then touring in a mini van that breaks down etc.To play a place they do not make money except off merchandise sales.  I get the I want to get the album ASAP, but besides being a fan, I think it becomes, OH I have it before you mentality. F that. As for Astonishing, I received it thru proper channels and still went out and purchased it. Sorry to derail.

If I recall correctly, it's like "are-is". There was a snippet of him introducing himself in an announcement or something like that in that Spotify page thing.

While I'm here too, am I allowed to ask what the first line in the chorus of Moment of Betrayal is? "[unknown]/secret soul [or song?]/moment of betrayal..."

Blob said it's "Burning rose / Secrets told". I first heard it as "sold", but he said he got it from the official lyrics.

I don't care what that fake lyrics sheet says, it's gotta be "secret sauce!"  :ryule:

I'll pay a specific store a visit tomorrow in the hopes they are selling the album before the release date. It has been hard to wait. (I won't share anything of the record itself, it'd be just for my solitary pleasure. Please don't ban me.)

I've managed to do that for every DT release since Awake.

I am betting this album would disrupt DoC's DT The League.   Based on what I am reading from advanced reviews, there would be at least 5 songs that would qualify for Division 1. Seeing very good words for Act of Faythe (or is it Losing Faythe?), A Life Left Behind, A New Beginning, The Path That Divides, and Our New World. As in usual DT fashion, the early releases TGOM and MOB are not the ones people are raving about.  :lol

Pretty lengthy piece on Mangini in the latest Drum! mag.  Sidebar with Petrucci, sidebar with Chycki, as well as a few snippets of transcription.  The Gift of Music bit that was in a video posted earlier, a piece of Moment of Betrayal, and a bit of Lord Nafaryus; the tango section!  Not sure what all they make available online, but my physical copy was only 6 bucks.  Definitely added to my hype.

Which video? I'm only getting results about guns when I search for "Mangini drum mag"

Not Mangini playing, but a performance of the bit in question.  Wish there were videos like this for the other pieces.

Hey everyone..just wanted to state for those worried... Got my bandcamp money refunded today, so I am going to put it towards the HDtracks since its hopefully not as compressed as the cd.

Also for those stating opinions of the HDTracks, I think 100% of the difference is from the volume not being cranked to clipping and 0% due to 24/96.  On this album I think the difference will be minimal, but might as well go for the best.

What the hell is the remaining locked video???
"The thing that kills me is all these bands that use huge words in their lyrics, 'I'm swimming in a vortex of apathy.' I'm like, 'What?' I don't walk up to a friend and go 'That's a stylin' looking vortex of apathy you've got there pal. I was swimming up a river of deceit myself."

There's an interview where James says his favorite song is Ravenskill. I bet it will be one of my favorites too! And from everything I've read so far, A New Beginning will be astonishing

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

for this album.   Felt like his contributions weren't noticed on prior albums.   https://www.rockurlife.net/interview/english/dream-theater-04-12-15
