34 tracks... 22 days left.
and only one track released.

No snippets, no preview, no review, no video... nothing.
Only characters and a map...

I'm a little bit disappointed.  :tdwn

How many tracks are usually released before an album is released? ONE.

totally agree. The hype level has decreased   :'(

RoeDent

Hang in there, people. We've got this far. Just three weeks to go.

Any of you got plans to build-up to the album? Discography sessions, etc.?

Kotowboy

Yes I plan to listen to Metropolis then Scenes From A Memory then Bridges In The Sky then The Astonishing since they're all connected

Can my personal favorite Dream Theater epic, A Change of Seasons, somehow be intermingled and interconnected with The Astonishing?  Let's discuss how it might be.

The real reason why ACoS was excluded from I&W was because it sucked too much to be included among the other songs.

To my ears - ACOS sounds like 5 jigsaw puzzles that someones tried to join together anyway.

Darkstarshades

Actually, I only totally dislike the studio version of ACOS.
The LSFNY is very enjoyable tho. Still, the instrumental sections are not my cup of tea.

 any updates?

Not yet.  And as a reminder to others:  This thread is for album updates and discussion.  The thread is long enough as it is without silly spam and off-topic discussion.  There is a chat thread for the former and lots of other threads for the latter.  Please keep discussion where it belongs and reasonably focused.  Thanks.

Dark Moor's Imperial Earth is sequel to The Astonishing.

The Astonishing is the name of an Alien race spaceship

Yes, The Emperor is on that video.

I spoiled that one month ago my friend  ;D

I've been making fun of it to for a long time. I think I also posted it somewhere in another thread, it just got lost.

WHAT IF

The clock guy is alien like those on that Dark Moor video  ::)

RoeDent

I'm beginning to wonder if the band/label have read this thread's speculation about "Clock Guy" and are deliberately delaying his reveal in order to build the "hype" up/annoy us?

YtseJamittaja

Actually my hype level has decreased quite much because of that silence. And that's a shame.  :(

Train of Naught

I'm currently equally hyped for Megadeth, but as soon as it's released I'll focus on DT again, by then it's only a week away.

Why would someone be annoyed about Clock Guy not being revealed yet?

The album is released in 22 days, why are people desperate for updates?

My thoughts exactly. A lack of updates merely increases my anticipation and excitement. Whenever we get news, great! If not, well like you said 3 weeks is nothing. And if I recall all we had last album was TEI anyway!

hefdaddy42

If they release some new bit of info, great.

If not, the album will be out on the 29th.

We also had Along for the Ride.

And c'mon, people manage anxiety differently. I don't think people should tell eachother how anxious they should be and try to end people's expectations. Someone might be more anxious than me but they control it better. We are only humans xD

Patience, my friends.

Besides, it has been said that you should consult your doctor if you experience erections lasting for more than 4 hours.

Of all the things in life and in the world...well, it's a luxury if this is all you have to be anxious about!  :)

Right now, the 29th feels like an eternity away. And there's still (relatively) a lot to be revealed. The last character, the last map piece, the Places section, the videos, the two red buttons on the NOMAC. I just hoped there'd be something near the beginning of the month to celebrate us reaching release month.

I never said it was? I just said that people manage it differently. I'm anxious for the return of my German and Russian language classes. I'm anxious to start my translator course. I'm anxious for more books. I'm anxious for Dream Theater's new album. Sorry if I can't split my anxiety that well :P
