-Encore:  You Not Me; You Not Me II (Reprise)
Will that be with the polka breakdown, the dubstep extended guitar solo, the extra verses about how it's not about you or me but about them, or will it be the black metal single edit?
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Someone mentioned somewhere that it might be spoken tracks by these NOMACS, meaning they're not really seen as songs, just something to round up the concept, and as they're first and last on Act 1 it seems very plausible.
Especially with "Dystopian Overture" being the second track, I could see a short, spoken track leading into a instrumental "overture" with "The Gift of Music" being the first with sung vocals.

So, the hypothesis that we'll have 10 songs on both acts based on the number of empty slots on the site has been disproven.

I'm a bit disappointed to see that many songs in the first act, it increases the chance we'll only have lots of short songs like in DT12
Hoping for three +10 min songs, is that too much to ask, DT?? :(

Well Scenes has 12 songs and Falling Into Infinity has 11. Both albums have a good variety in song length, some shorter ones and some longer than 10 minutes. So I don't think you need to worry about that.

You never know it might be two songs split up into 11 segments.

For arguments sake - 80 minute CD by 11 songs is an average of 7.5 minutes per song.

I really hope DT goes for a more unpredictable and creative approach than the standard "concept album." It would be very easy to just do the same formula as SFAM and call it a day, i.e. like most concept albums. Just throw something at as we won't expect in terms of music, function, and form

Now I speculate the European The Astonishing shows will just be the album. Since 2 discs of 80 minutes = 2 hours 40 minutes. Even if the discs are only 60 -70 minutes each there'd probably be an intermission of 10-20 minutes between act 1 and 2.

Well, I wasn't supposed to reveal this, but since you are SO close, it doesn't really hurt at this point.  According to information I have directly from the band, the live shows will consist of:
-The Astonishing:  Act I
-intermission
-The Astonishing:  Act II
-Encore:  You Not Me; You Not Me II (Reprise)

Now how close am I really?

The encore will obviously be A Nightmare to Remember with extended ending jam. The song will last around 24 minutes.

With the Day after Day part being sung by JM, who will reveal his powerful demonic voice from beyond.

Seeing all these posts about how people are disappointed because there's two discs (probably) of music or how they're disappointed because there's "too many" songs in the first act?

I hate to be rude, but this seems like you're looking for something to complain about. Why are we bitching about this information? Unless you know something I don't, there's no way to tell what this album is even remotely like.

Come on, people.

Are they really going to have a song called Lord Nafaryus? This is TCOT level stuff here.

Well, maybe when being looked at individually.
It makes sense in the context of the album.

What was the leaked material that prompted the new thread? I just wanna know so I wouldn't talk about it. Is it the artwork from the Italian DT fb page?

I think it was just a couple of bits of character artwork, found by guessing some filenames. There could be more I missed though, as I wasn't around when it got deleted. We'll probably see it soon with the next official update anyway.

It's weird, being a DT fan, I don't remember if I've ever felt the sensation of getting a lot of new songs at same time.
I was kinda getting used to the "11 - 12" songs format with ADTOE and DT12. And by the time of 6DOIT ( a double album like The Ashtonishing) I wasn't that much into DT. I started to follow them like "move by move" when TOT came out.

SPOILER ALERT:  I had a dream last night;  The first CD of The Astonishing contains 3 songs (8min, 8min , 15min) and the drums sounded amazing! :D  And guess what..... The first song was On The Backs Of Angels with a different title.
