Awesome, by the looks of it I'll have all your EP's by tomorrow. Let's see if all three of you stay true to those statements  :hat

Sent! Microsoft Word says my write-up for the EP has 3494 words in it. That's what you get if you allow me to reach the Finals. :lol

Anyway, my EP is called Hymns for the Soul and is 28:28 in length (I hope every song is allowed.) What about yours, 425 and seneca?

Nope

I've got another perfect song then.

Just need to write another 500 words about it, wait for it.

Well shit, now I'm at 3637 words and it won't let me send the message, says it's too long.

Oh, by the way, 425, my last song was rejected so as you saw I had to re-send. Obviously I panicked and forgot to tell you, so my new last song is this one:

I'm not sure if it matters now since you've sent anyway, but well, yeah. :lol

Cool. I suggest you should listen to mine in a calm environment focusing only on the songs and lyrics and on nothing else. Definitely don't listen to it on the road or anything like that.

Also, 425, I was just misleading you for fun. This isn't my last EP song. I thought of including Savatage but didn't find the right spot.

I was actually planning on listening to it in the Anechoic Chamber of my old school whilst recording my LIVE reaction, to then post it online and go viral on YouTube, but that's a good alternative

It's just I listened to some of my roulette rounds either on the train or on the plane. I remember falling asleep on the train during one of the epics

See, my roulettes are a lot of fun.

First listen completed hype  :hat

I must say, I really like the format of this final round, every section has its own approach but it strangely molds together in a pretty cohesive piece of music with lots of different genres. I listened to the whole thing continuously once now, a total of 81 minutes it is. I don’t think I’ve ever been this focused when listening to music, not a second of interruption.
The only thing that bothers me is that I’m already comparing songs from the various EP’s and making up scores in my head, while what I really want to do now is let the music sink in. Nothing has disappointed me so far, here and there there's songs I don't like as much, but nothing bad really.
I’m pretty devoted to this so I’m going to aim to have the final results and close the roulette off before the release of The Astonishing.

Train of Naught - Train of Naught (debut album) Tracklisting and song lengths LEAKED!

1. David Gilmour – Faces of Stone  (5:32)
2. Jon Lord – Pictured Within  (5:24)
3. Marillion – Sugar Mice  (5:47)
4. David Gilmour – Red Sky at Night  (2:51)
5. Evergrey – Hymns for the Broken  (4:22)
6. Phideaux – The Claws of a Crayfish  (5:41)

7. God is an Astronaut – Remaining Light  (5:28)
8. Lorde – 400 Lux  (3:54)
9. Lorde – Buzzcut Season  (4:06)
10. Taylor Swift – This Love  (4:09)
11. Taylor Swift – Clean  (4:30)
12. Beach House – Days of Candy  (6:16)

13. The Antlers – Parade  (5:10)
14. James Blake – Retrogade  (4:02)
15. Radiohead – Reckoner  (4:50)
16. Headspace – The Big Day  (9:50)

Total length: 1:21:52

I'm slowly but surely starting to appreciate certain parts of the album more and more, and it truly feels like you've created something good together, even though you all submitted these different sections without discussing it (I highly assume). I don't want to give a single hint towards the final scores though, so I'll keep it at this.

5. Evergrey – Hymns for the Broken  (4:22)

Don't forget it's a piano version.

Anyway, I'm looking at the tracklists and I only know the Headspace track out of these. I think I have a pretty good chance here.

Also, love the "LEAKED" touch. :lol

Right. Obviously I listen to the piano version because I have your own edit of the EP, but I forgot to mention that in the tracklisting. I suppose leaks aren't always perfectly executed though so I'll leave it at this  :hat

Well, 425's EP looks like it's hugely pop-oriented. My songs are all about emotions and sadness and these kinds of things.

The only question is if they will click with you or not.

I'm not familiar with enough of Evermind's (I know about half) or seneca's (I think I've heard Headspace but don't remember) to make that call. But I do like 4/6 of 425's EP (don't know the other two at all) and the half of Evermind's that I know.

It's the other song(s) (and those sent by the other participants) that make it obvious :)

Well, I guess everyone pretty quickly figured out which one was mine :lol

I know 4/6 of Evermind's, and it looks like his will be pretty tough for me to beat. I don't know any of seneca's, actually.

Anyway, good to hear that this experiment is going well so far! I may have to give a listen to this full 80 minute thing at some point, though right now I'm sure I have some angry roulette participants waiting for me to give some writeups.

You really should give it a try, it's really good as one piece, better than expected. Though you'll never have the full Train experience, Evermind edited some parts out where there's silence at the end so it flows better, and if it wasn't for the additional youtube playlist I made because seneca's songs were youtube links I would've had them all playing in one go.

There aren't really a lot of edits in mine, but yeah, there are some small things like cutting the silence at the end of Hymns for the Broken so the last piano note would segue straight into the lively, playful yet dramatic culmination that is the opening of that Phideaux song.

I've made more edits on 425's EP than here. I had to seriously cut almost every silence from his EP because otherwise I couldn't make it through because of the length.

Not that it helped, really. :lol
