Do you like djent? :P
As long as it's not over the top with the instruments, I usually enjoy it, just keep in mind when sending djent that I'm usually fairly picky with vocalists, for one, not used to excessive screaming, and the only real example I can think of right now of a vocalist playing for a djent band that I enjoy is Spencer Sotelo.

Kinda expected that since I always see that name next to a Sacul submission, I have not heard their music yet though.

Been getting a lot of names I'm very familiar with but have never bothered to check out, obviously my lazy ass intended for that to happen and just wanted the best of the best out of those artists sended right to me. I'm pretty excited to check everything out but it won't be until atleast Sunday/Monday until I start listening (obviously Evermind has his business trip until Sunday so the other four people remaining aren't in any rush to send whatsoever).

Alright, just came home a few hours ago, but I still need to settle up and rest a bit after the flight, so I'll send in a few hours.

Is there any length limit for the songs?
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Most themed rounds are pretty obvious, but two of them are kind of a stretch while the open rounds are pretty much the random leftovers.

Shit, I'm cockblocked on the very first round just like that! :lol

In fact, I wanted to send a heavy track, but I kinda think Breaking All Illusions Round is going to be a heavy round, so I need to dwell on this a little longer. Will send in ~30 minutes.

Edit: sent a song I always tend to outplay Parama with, and after the round he complains he knows this song but never sends it. :lol

As my very first taste of a roulette as the host I must say I'm already enjoying this so much, shows that I still have a lot of music to discover. Here's some snippets from each song:

This is a very cool style of music that I would never see myself listen to on a regular basis, but it works so well that I want to find those situations to listen to this kind of music

Risks make for fun roulettes, but I’m pretty sure you’ll be facing the non-rewarding consequence of taking risks

I feel like shouting the chorus as loud as possible from the top of a mountain whenever it kicks in

And the electronic side of this song is in no way overwhelming, which is pretty much how I had hoped it to be

But this song shows all the more that great production makes for amazing audible basslines

The choir comes in, and it’s very fitting for this extremely progressive style they’re going for

Good thing you had that great second guitar solo in there because I think that’s what eventually made this song where it stands

This song never gets too complex to comprehend or anything, therefore it has more relistening value

I find it hard to say a lot about this, because there’s not all that much to complain about, neither is there something I’ve never heard before

But let’s face it, the best part of this song is that killer bass riff, that shit is freaking awesome

And finally, angry Portnoy vocals transition into great, memorable melodies

It has very aggressive vocals which really fit this raw sound they’re going for

And some random notes: I don't think I'll be giving out a 10/10, but only because I don't really have material to compare to, I want to save a 10/10 for the song that can't be beaten by anything, and I still have 9 rounds to go, although I'm pretty sure a 9,5 will be handed to one of you. There's also one song that has already put one of you back quite a few steps, as scores will probably range from about 4,5 to 9,5.

Results are out tomorrow or tuesday depending on my schedule.

Almost all songs had a chorus, so that one's gonna be a hard guess.
ROUND 2 – Breaking All Illusions
Alrighty, I said before that two of the names are kind of a stretch IMO, and this is the first one of them. Uplifting/joyful songs, anything that invokes happinesss for whatever reason you can think of, send them to me! I guess I chose BAI because of the vibe more than the actual song name. Anyway send somewhere around this week.

Since pretty much all of you aren't familiar with my tastes it might be for the best to wait for results before sending round 2, I'm just putting out the theme so you know. By the way I'm pretty happy with the first round overall, not perfect, but we have 9 more to go.

it's not exactly likely for you to get your favorite song of the roulette in the very first round, yeah  :P
let's see what i have to send, then. maybe i'll send the same thing I sent to Tom  :lol
would a bright-sounding song with not-exactly bright lyrics fit for the round though?

Wow, I purpously didn't send the same song I sent to you to BIZKIT so I picked another song from the same artist, just because it seemed unethical, but apparently everyone does it   :tdwn.

because i like to pick songs from artists that are
1. rather representative of their sound
2. one of my favorites from them

i do send different songs from the same artist in some cases but in other cases i stick with the entry i like sending the most  :lol
