If its bats you want, or a witch with a broom
Settle in there's plenty of room.

here is my yard set-up from last year....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EzTXWaW5aw

as you can see by the video, there was snow on the ground.  it was cold and windy and I was unable to put out all my props for the trick-r-treaters.

Yay, I can't wait! Still trying to decide on a costume but not wanting to do anything too crazy this year.

OK vent post… Many of you guys who have daughters me understand this…

My daughter wants to be rainbow dash from my little pony friendship is magic for Halloween.  Yes I do watch the show, yes I do enjoy it, no I am not a Brony as I do not own any paraphernalia or dress-up like one. I just am not annoyed when she chooses the watch that instead of the same episode of whatever other show that she watches for the hundredth time... Anyways I digress.

I started looking for costumes, and every single rainbow dash  costume is nothing like a pony. It's a rainbow colored dress. Sometimes with ears, sometimes not.  Regardless, looking nothing like a pony, and my daughter wants to look like the pony. Not some princess like human form of that said pony. It really bugs me that so many costumes for girls out there have to have dresses.  She is not ever been caught up in the whole princess Fad, so why should whatever she takes interested in have to have a princess like dress? If she wanted to be Leonardo from the turtles, the girl version of  The cost gym would probably have a dress. It's stupid!

Anyways, I could purchased costumes that someone makes for me, however they are very very expensive. But, there are also ways to make it yourself. That is probably what I'm going to end up doing. The problem is, now I need to find a light blue colored Hootie and leggings or sweatpants so that she can  look like a pony. However, nowhere sells those! I have looked at seven different stores at least. Everything either has decoration on it, brand-name's on it, or is all like fancy so it's really expensive. The boy section doesn't have the right color of blue and she will complain.

Argh.... This would be so much easier if companies didn't expect all girls to aspire to wear a dress when they dress up!!!!!
I don’t know what to put here anymore

Yep I've already started. Found a pair of wings at party city and a hoodie at a goodwill.  Next I'm going to go to Michael's and get some different colors of felt or fleece for the mane and tail as well as the ears.  The thing I'm not sure about is if I should take a hot glue gun and glue it on, or get some sort of sewing thing…

Glue would probably work, but there's always a chance of it falling off. I would say sew if you can. It wouldn't take a lot of effort or skill to do something like that.

I saw that on Facebook the other day. Amazing. Want to do it, but am probably the least Italian person in my family when it comes to cooking.

So many things being planned for Halloween, I can't decide but don't want to try and do everything! One of my friends is having a party the weekend before... and before that I will be going to Dismember the Alamo (it was a blast last year), where they show four mystery horror movies :caffeine:

I hate olives as well (except when I used to knock back martinis like it was the water of eternal life). But holy shit, that is awesome!

I cannot fucking wait for Fall and Winter. I don't know how I was born and raised in both the southernmost cities of Louisiana and Texas and still absolutely, vehemently abhor the heat. Hate it. I'm the guy that will walk around with a big fat smile on my face in the stark of Winter wearing shorts, a t-shirt and flipflops and when people look at me weird I do the gangnam and tell them that is how I stay warm. It works.

I'm excited to see what kind of stupid shit this town gets into this Halloween. Every year there is some dumbfuck kid(s) that does something so absolutely stupid that any smidgen of hope I had for humanity is smothered. I don't know what it is about Halloween...whether it's the ignorant inbreds that actually think there's something to the ghosts and ghouls and all the bullshit that comes with that (usually killing some poor kitty to appease the gods of the underworld...that's not a joke), or just the drunken slut-muffins or the wasted thug-muffins (I'm eating muffins), someone does something stupid. Every. Fuckin'. Year.

I wish I was more into dressing up and shit but...this year I'll be watching over my year-old niece as she goes on her first Halloween outing and I am bringing an actual broadsword (which is actually a really gorgeous, custom, battle-ready sword I got for my 18th birthday from a friend who is a real life awesome blacksmith) with me in case some cretin decides to fuck with anyone going with us...which I think is just my dad, maybe my sis. Normally I'd not worry, but each year some crazy shit happens and whilst I protested against it, my sisters and dad both want her to go so... here we go! I'm actually legitimately nervous for the night... Despite living in a pretty damn safe area, there's still crazy shit that goes down from time to time and I go into complete feral, berserker mode when I think anyone in my family is in danger, let alone my baby niece (which thankfully has not happened thus far, at least with her). Meh. Paranoia. But sometimes I think that's a good thing with the shit I read the day after Halloween.

The lyrics can be a bit corny at times, but the rest of the song is too perfect to not have a great time to.

So I was supposed to be camping this entire weekend and therefor not partaking in halloween festivities, but decided to not go until late Saturday.

Reasoning is this is the first time Halloween is on a weekend since I bought my house so therefore it is the first time I can be home and actually be a home owner giving kids candy in the neighborhood.

So I bought 50 bucks of candy and a storm trooper costume.  I will be giving out candy to rebels!

I have been living in secure apartment buildings up until this year since I bought my condo, but it's been so long since I've given out candy that it didn't even cross my mind. So I've got nothing. But I hope to be out of here before the kids come out. I've got invites to several parties but haven't figured out the plan yet. Getting over being sick so costume will not be elaborate today.

Nice!

I was pretty dissapointed with the turn out for tricker or treaters, my neighborhood is fairly dense for the area I live in so I thought there would be a lot of kids (more houses, less walking, more candy) but lets just say I have lots of left over candy.

Anyway,

Btw, I recently read that mischief night is an extremely Jersey thing and most other areas of the country have no name for the night before Halloween! I was somewhat disappointed in the rest of the country when I read that haha

Tip was included with the order so thats why you don't see it, although my friends all asked the same question and my typical response is "did you see the gun I had, of course I didnt tip him"

and wtf, I thought mischief night was a legit thing for halloween.  I guess its just a Jersey thing.  :lol
