9? I'm alright with that. Even if my next two scores are dropped, 29 in three rounds is definitely a fine result.

And damn you Paul, I was going to send some Blind Guardian later. Great pick though, love that song.

This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

No, I don't think Brent would've appreciated Wheel of Time. Either something from Somewhere Far Beyond or Tanelorn / A Voice in the Dark or maybe The Throne from their latest.

And hey, it's only now I realized I've sent all three artists in your roulette too. :lol If it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess.

I'll take a 9, thank you very much.
My favourite BG song from my favourite BG album, htough I haven't heard anywhere near all of them. I agree with your remarks about Hansi's voice - in fact when I first tried them years ago I was put off by his voice and the folky (I hate folk - y wandering minstrel, hey nonny no crap- ie all those intros on Iron Maiden's FF album) intro of the track I heard.
Now I love Hansi's voice and I love the chorus on this track.

Now back to deciding what to send. Might send a risky one, another personal favourite. Best 3 scores out of the 5 isn't it?

To those riding the caboose... stick with it - you can't please everyone all the time.  I've finished dead last in in more roulette's than I've won - and 2nd last in a handful as well.  Roulette's are about having fun, and exposing the organizer to music they wouldn't have otherwise known about or tried out.  Sometimes when there's no chance of winning, that's when the "thinking too much" approach goes out the window, and you nail it.  I finished last in Lucas', but nailed the final round with a near perfect score when I stopped caring.   :lol

I have a band or two that I recently discovered that are on the lighter side of prog rock/ metal and nail a lot of the elements I like -  but I am keeping them up my sleeve for Chad’s roulette.

I'm intrigued.

I suck at this! :lol

As did I in yours.  I'll go gentler on you, k?

Brent, that is some detail there.  There is a 15 minute song from that album I almost sent.  It has a 80's vibe to it.  Completely different from the song I sent.

I heard a couple X Japan songs a few years ago on Nick's radio show, liked them well enough, but didn't explore them at all.

Wait... I've said too much.

Nice to see some X Japan love. I was holding on to them and Was going to send Art of Life.

That song was a real showcase for Yoshiki, both drums and piano. I think it's too long an introductory song, though, because you have to be patient with the English delivery and the lyrics are really long!

True. A great piece of music though. Only useful in roulettes when there's an epic round.

I sent Endless Rain because of this.

That song really translates well live. And given the context of that show, being their farewell concert, and knowing that Hide tragically died a few months after, the Last Live version is really just amazing.

Surprised at the high score from my song actually.  Check Motion and probably even check Fragile Equality first Brent, that's a killer one.

Been getting busy with work so I haven't even thought about what to send next.  Will send something in about 24 hours Brent if that's cool.

That's fine - still 4 or 5 to go.

Figured there's no rush at it's going at a nice cruisy pace.  Will definitely have something in tomorrow night.

Love that Opeth song, great atmosphere.  Interesting BG song choice too.  I find Chad's submission really weird too.  You didn't know Fire Brent?

You didn't know Fire Brent?

I may have heard it long ago and forgotten it but nah - didn't remember it and certainly don't own it. I think Chad ran with the idea that (as I stated) my collection is weak in classic rock.  You name a 60's album - I don't have it  :lol

I don't own a single Hendrix album either.  Pretty much on the same wave as you.  I appreciate what he's done, but I'll never choose to sit down and put an album on.  I don't mind watching him if a live clip comes on tv or something though.

Hmm.........just stumbled onto a retro classic metal band from an obscure European country that sounds fucking good.  Young kids playing stuff that sounds like it's 1985.  Into the wolfking roulette playlist  :hat

Got 9 of 12 songs so far - if we can get everything in across Wednesday then I will aim for results on Monday again.  If it's Thursday , then make it Tuesday.     I am allowing for anywhere from 6-8 listens to everything which is what I have done thus far.
