Computer Savvy People... HELP!
« on: August 31, 2015, 08:37:52 PM »
I have Windows 10 (I downloaded the free upgrade because I HATED Windows 8... this is better lol) anyways earlier today my audio stopped working... troubleshooting doesn't work, I shut down and turned it back on and it didn't work.  It says when I hover over the sound icon (with the x) it says "No speakers or headphones plugged in" and when I go into properties it says the sound device isn't plugged in.   How do I get my sound back?  Anyone?
I don’t know what to put here anymore

I would suggest going into the device manager and deleting the device.  Then do a refresh  (so that it searches new devices ) and have it thus reinstall the drivers.

Edit: Your avatar is very fitting right now :lol

It's all good now.  I restarted (again) and a whole bunch of updates and now it's ok.

Huh. I've installed Windows 10 on two machines and the audio stopped working on both of them. I uninstalled the mobo's Realtek audio drivers and let the Windows drivers handle it. Fixed the issue.
Listen! Do you smell something?
