The dude had sent a handful of messages to post in the thread, but by the time I saw them, the moment had past, and it didn't seem to make sense to post them. I can see his point, and while I got a few good tracks from him (Hiberia stands out), I'm sure the competition would've been just fine without him.

My guess is it's Zander. Or Jamesman

Actually, my guess is that it's YtseBitsySpider - the original Mystery Roulette player - as the judge, not participant.

Or maybe one of the other 10 players - probably using this alias to cock-block some bands

Looking at the posting styles of Ytse and Jamesman, it doesn't seem to be a fit for the style in the emails. I couldn't find a Zander in the memberlist.

Check the timestamps on the emails he sent you, we might be able to narrow down the geographical region to a continent.

I was kidding about Zander and Jamesman. Zander is Ravenheart, and used to be the roulette king. I don't think he has been around for a while. Jamesman and I don't see eye-to-eye so much.

I thought too about the timing of emails. They all came between 9:30 and 10:30 am my time. That could be any North American or European time zone, and a late send for any of the ANZ people. It doesn't rule out anyone, and I'm not sure if that was planned or not.

Yeah, the LA Guns and Lizzy Borden submissions suggest someone at least in their late 30s, but likely in their early 40s. YBS fits that bill.

I'm not gonn sweat it too much. I got 16 more songs, and 90 mins of music still to plough thru this week.

YBS took part in Milena's roulette alongside Mystery though. I have a feeling they wouldn't join a roulette twice since it means some other person loses out. I think it'd be a bit of a dick move to do that. But obviously I can't rule out the possibility that Mystery is a dick, because they very well could be.

Can't rule out lonestar completely of course, but...First, RJ would much rather win as RJ, I don't think he'd risk an anonymous name getting another win instead.

Second, I think Mystery would have done a lot better in the roulette overall if they were RJ. Third, not much in Mystery's songs this roulette scream "RJ would love this, perhaps he sent it" at me (but I'm not exactly an expert there).

Edit: Although returning to the first point, I guess RJ could send the B-grade stuff since Mystery got through and lonestar didn't, if he didn't want to use up the good stuff on Mystery.

True on all accounts ... but also remember that YBS participated as himself in that Champion's roulette where he was also the judge. He is a shifty mofo.

Three listens in so far. Good stuff - couple of plodders (as Brent would say). I think this is gonna be a close one. Might have results up on Friday, if not then Sunday (as I've got shit to do on Saturday).

Just a heads up... if you thought I was handing out tough ratings before, it's gonna be even a tad tougher for the finals. You've all had 2 qualification + 7 main rounds of competition to zone in on my tastes. Just like in school, that gave you plenty of time to 'study', and thus my expectations of a good performance are a little higher than they were earlier. You're the best of the best, so I came into this round expecting you to demonstrate it. Something that got a low 80s in the main competition is likely going to get a mid/high 70s.
