Just stung me in the ear. For no reason. What the hell.

What else makes no sense to you?

That there's still people who are anti-vaxers, anti-GMOs, who throw shit at science with every new 'study' that refutes a previous one, claiming "scientists can't agree on anything - why should we fund them?", and the ones who think I'm some kind of 'Big Pharma shill' just because I don't agree with them and their anti-system attitude.

They are a quite oblivious group. The most painful ones are on Things Anti Vaxxers Say and for a really painful read, try Things Overheard at Whole Foods. Yikes man.

Had to post the picture!?   :| *scared*

Can anyone seriously answer what wasps actually and truthfully do for the eco system? I feel bad for the polar bears, tigers, those fuzzy bumble bee guys, and even honey bees to name a few. Which I guess honey bees are now hybrids of "killer bees" basically? But if wasps became extinct, I would be happy. Even if it caused the world fall into its core in 57 days.

Wasps are dicks.

Bees I'm ok with. Honeybees I guess are ok - they make honey after all - but they're still a little scary and tend to swarm. Bumblebees I've come to quite like though, they're soft and fluffy and basically harmless unless you attack them. And they're also endangered.

I had a wasp that landed on my foot 2 days ago while I was sitting outside. It stayed there for a few minutes and all it did was tickle my foot... and it also seemed to have a strange fixation with my big toe. The only problem I had with my new friend is that it kept making small movement with it's abdomen, so I was always wondering if it was going to sting or not. But in the end, since we were now buddies it decided to not sting me.

Also, wasp can actually pollinate flowers, so they're not just dicks.

So sorry for breaking the wasp hate. Wasps are awesome!  :metal

Bumblebees are alright, pretty much harmless and good for the environment, plus I just got some bumblebee cichlids for my fish tank

As for wasps... yea wtf

But I will add, I am still scared of queen bees.  Those things are just huge and scarey looking.  I've actually never been stung though.

And finally, I will add this that also makes bees cool:

Bees and Wasps...I hate them both.

I was stung by bees about five times as a kid.
When I was about seven, Christmas Day Summer in Australia...I had a wasp and a bee fighting in my long hair, they didn't sting me but that buzzing sound in my ears I can still remember 30+ years later.....when I got back to my Nan's she brushed them out of my hair....I was a little hysterical by this point.

Even now when they enter my garden and do their thing...I watch them until they leave.
But I do realize that we need bees, but as for wasps they can f**k off forever!

Not gonna lie RJ.....this fella had an evil look about him. Along with the natural yellow stripes adorning his face I believe I saw some Red highlights on his chest plate that seemed to be marking the number of people he's stung in his Ninja assassin career. I didn't want to risk being the next tally so I waved him away.

I grew up with bees and wasps, but I have no idea why they conjure up so much hate. Sure, they sting occasionally,  but not even remotely as much as people make it out to be. In fact, I always suspect that it's the inevitable thrashing by people that makes them sting (witnessed just that yesterday in fact. The kid went completely berserk, flailing arm everywhere). If left alone they usually do nothing.

Heh, that might be true, but wasps always give that impression that they are coming after you, and if a wasp is about to sting you, keeping your calm and just standing there so as not to anger the flying asshole is not something most can pull off in the moment. :lol :lol

People just love freaking out about stuff (e.g. brisk 5-minute walk to the convenience store, downs a Gatorade to replenish electrolytes).
