Yeah, but what can you do? There's not really enough interest for separate threads, and it would be confusing, and I certainly don't want to ruin anything for anybody!

I caught a couple of episodes of the original Real Humans the other night, and they were obviously from further ahead in the story. I don't know how much of it they'll retain or change if Humans continues, but it's interesting seeing the same characters and arcs.

Yeah, and we'll carry on signposting any spoilers in BIG CAPITAL LETTERS. At least it makes a change from most shows where here in the UK at least we're behind, sometimes by a few weeks or months (and in some cases things never seem to get picked up here).

They didn't show it but I have a strong hunch that the guy that 'Blondie' asked who that was in the picture of the original team is that goatee dude that fake burned the synth.

Yep, I always watch it ASAP. Best show of the week!

Niska continues to be awesome. Pairing her up with the kid was more gold.
"Has your hair always been like that?"
"Has your face always been like that?"
:lol

They've pretty much revealed everything now, with how that other synth fits in, so I expect a big finale now that they've been caught.

The bit where Odi said "you are dead" was so innocently blunt that it kind of hit me. :(

Great minds, that was my favourite part of the episode. :lol It was quite intense in general, so Niska and Sophie together was some great light relief.

For not being sentient, Odi is a surprisingly great character for tugging on the heart strings!

Just started watching this show yesterday.  I'm 2 episodes in.

Good stuff so far.  I love William Hurt, and I can't wait to see where his story goes.  His attachment to his android is interesting.

Anita is lovely.

I'm so happy. This is my favourite show of the year, and there are so many places it could go (I've seen bits of Real Humans to see where it could potentially go).
It will also be easier to enjoy the season final knowing that it won't leave any loose threads permanently hanging.

Looks like Leo's dad didn't kill himself after all....or, before he did he created one last synth with feelings to round em' all up and exterminate them. (The chic cop?)

You'd think a super intelligent mind would know to charge itself? The 'only at 4% charge' reason for losing another brother was lazy Writing IMO.

Er, why? They do know how to charge themselves (although I don't know where you got the idea that they are supposed to be "super intelligent"), but being on the run and with all the shit going down, they weren't able to get the chance.

Just thinking they'd know how difficult it is to get the chance to charge. They were at that house for a while....grab a cord and fuel up man!!  :lol And, knowing they are being pursued leaving the house with such a low amount of energy just doesn't seem very well thought out by a 'superior' mind.

I also thought that scene was a bit unlikely, but looking back it's not that bad.

When they first arrived they were busy trying to fix Anita/Mia, and then almost immediately they got the call from Fred. The plan was just to quickly accompany Leo to make sure he was safe on a short drive to pick up Fred, then return, where he could/would have charged.
And even though he was only at 4% charge, I figure that should have given him at least an hour left given that he was only sitting, so it was a calculated choice based on emotion that only went wrong when he ultimately had to perform unplanned physical activity. Had everything gone as planned, being at 4% wouldn't have been a problem for him at all.

He is a robot, but he was programmed to think like a human. The whole time it seems that emotion and family took priority over his own "wellbeing", caring for Mia and Leo.

Yeah...I guess you guys are right. He's shown himself to be very selfless thus far, that might have just been an extension of him thinking of others first. Also, I found it very interesting his 'evolution' of consciousness to address God to care for those he loved as well. Then, ultimately sacrifice himself for Leo's safety.

Well, I spent a good part of my weekend watching this show and I was pleasantly surprised by it. As king said, the actors going from robot to human is very well accomplished and one of my favorite things about all this.

Just caught the last two episodes. So much for William Hurt's character  :lol it was a good minor role and I thought they did a good job with his synth there by him at the end detailing an old story for him as he died.

They rounded that season out to a point where who knows where they take it next year? All in all a good show...neat premise, have to wait to see what happens next season.

Having seen quite a few episodes of the show it's based on, Real Humans, there are lots of places they could potentially go. Since the show isn't sticking to the exact same story, I consider this spoiler safe, but here are some of the story arcs I've seen-

Using the sentient synth code to start the feared robot revolution
Sentient synths fighting for human rights
Synth virus causing the synths to go crazy, including the sentient ones
Uploading oneself to a synth to remain alive

Although I haven't seen the early episodes of Real Humans, Humans appears to have dialed back the more techy stuff, so they may not do any of this at all, or they may adapt some of it.

Truthfully.....any of those could be real interesting. Especially the 'uploading oneself to remain alive'. That'd seem like it'd be a 'human' interest....or, natural avenue humans would explore to live forever. Very neat stuff.

So, Humans is back. The US doesn't get it till next year though, which is a little silly.
I did a rewatch of the first season before the new episode, although I apparently remembered it quite well, and enjoyed it just as much. It was even more refreshing after recently watching another show fail miserably at robot AI storylines..... Anyway....

New episode was really good. I love how they've broadened the scope of the show, while not ignoring what happened last season. I wasn't expecting them to release the synth code right away, and it was interesting seeing the synths' reactions to sudden consciousness. Carrie Ann Moss' character is a good addition to the show so far. I can't wait to see how that storyline progresses with douchey businessman. Still some characters from last season that we didn't see this episode, so there may still be more happening too.
