I know there are a few DTFers who use reddit, as I've run into cramx3, Shadow Ninja and chknptpie in the wild on reddit, to name a few.

I don't use it as much, but when I open it I recognize some names, so there is some overlap.

The overlap is pretty small though, but it is active.  I'm in it, but haven't actually looked at it or been active on it in forever.

I do like discord, but when discords are very active, it's not really interesting to me because I just don't have the time or will to be super active in a discord. 

I noticed the new chat thing on reddit and immediately closed it out.  Not really interested in that.  I just don't need live chat streams in my life.  I already mute all my group text messages.  It's just too much chatter for me.  DTF is a good pace for me to keep interested and not feel over whelmed by the constant chatter.

There are however plenty of positives of a discord community like file sharing or streaming and live chatting.  I use it regularly for gaming live chat.

I'm pretty sure the chat option has been there for a while, I disabled it because it's rife with scambaits and such. Unless they had shut it down and later reopened.

I dont know, but when I logged into reddit on Monday morning, which may have been my first time since the previous Friday.  I had notifications of chats.  I had not seen it before and it threw me into a music chat, which I don't ever recall joining.  I quit it and turned it off. That chat was non stop.  I don't have the time to deal with that
