I don't mind going to the cinema on my own. Only then you have nobody to discuss it with afterwards.

I'm not against going alone, but I've only done it a few times.  It's much better with a companion or group of people, and that's how I normally go.

Can I hate on a big trend right now?  Remakes of movies that we released 25 years ago.  Why is there a rush to remake these movies and they all seem to bomb.

In general, I agree.

I don't dislike all remakes. Some of them are really well done. The Longest Yard is one of my favorite remakes. Any movies in particular you guys had in mind?

Well Disney is doing this trend of remaking their classic animated movies into live action movies. We've had Alice In Wonderland, Maleficent, and Cinderella. We're about to get Beauty and the Beast, The Jungle Book, Mulan, Dumbo, and now they are looking at adapting the Night On Bald Mountain sequence from "Fantasia"

Something tells me that it´s the short movies, with Donald Duck in particular, that will become popular again. There are at least 12 movies starting with The Band Concert and ending with Drip, Dippy Donald (the first and the last truly great movie from the old era) that are eternal.

I suspect that they will try to make modern 3-D versions of these shorts and new movies that are similar in the near future.

Chances are that it will not be as great as most people might think though. Sort of like playing the  Art of Fugue on distorted guitars.

That is a bit older though.  I'm talking Total Recall, Fright Night ect.

Wait a little longer like 3:10 To Yuma where for some, the movie is not fresh in your mind.

I agree about the remakes of movies that aren't what I would consider old enough to make remakes.  The remakes and many sequals of movies makes me feel like hollywood is losing its creativity, but then there are still good new movies so there is hope, I just agree that I dislike those trends.

Yet another example of Hollywood's complete lack of originality shines through with a remake of "Sister Act," which is currently in the works at Disney.

Gremlins and Police Academy? You can't top those movies outside of the 1980s.

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Don't forget about this re-make. I have mixed feelings because I loved the original....don't see how that vibe and feel can be duplicated.....but I also like the Rock....so....

Yeah, it's still too early to remake Big Trouble.

Yeah, it's still too early to remake Big Trouble.

If given a choice between re-make and sequel.....I'd pick sequel.

not a remake. A direct sequel. Ridley Scott and Harrison Ford are involved.

Total Recall 2012 was awful. Completely ruined everything you loved from the original.

Robocop 2014 was great I thought. It was almost completely it's own movie with just a few affectionate nods to the original - which is the best thing you can do with a remake.
