This year has been a pretty good one for gigs:

Seen:

Anathema's cathedral tour
Steven Wilson twice
Karnivool for the first time
System of a Down for the first time in a decade!

To see:

Anathema/Dream Theater/Riverside/Pineapple Thief at a festival
Steven Wilson twice at the Royal Albert Hall (then again in Jan 2016)
Riverside
Aristocrats for the first time!

Every story needs to have an ending, we might as well give up all this pretending and clear the air...

So I won a live Nation Facebook contest and got free tickets for Sublime with Rome tonight. Pregaming now with my friends and then heading over for some good chill rummer music.

Saw Slash and M.Kennedy, going to Machine Head and Whitesnake.
Not so much choice here in Croatia  :\

btw. Dave Gilmour is coming this year also, in a very nice venue, but the tickets were sold out in like half an hour.

It seems that they're entering an area of extreme hazard. A zone of some sort. A dangerous one.

Been a really quiet year for me so far sadly - only been to one gig (Tides From Nebula, Sleepmakeswaves and Skyharbor). There were 3 or 4 others I was interested in around April/May time, but health problems and the fact I'd seen most of the bands before meant I gave them a miss.

Doesn't seem to be much on the horizon for the rest of the year either  :-\ I was planning to go to the Between the Buried and Me show in September simply to see Haken supporting, but I've realised it's the day I get home from holiday, so might not make it through to Glasgow for that either.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

So far I've seen Nightwish and Between the Buried and Me.

Will be seeing Toto and Yes in a few weeks and Zappa Plays Zappa at the end of September. Didn't spend more than $40 for any of the tickets except ZPZ which I splurged to get the VIP Soundcheck party ticket for $80.

Those two are down, added:

May 14th - Amaranthe

July 31st - Rascal Flatts

Those two are down (never saw Rascal Flatts) as well as these two:

August 2nd - Sublime with Rome
August 4th - Incubus

and these are coming up still (that I have tickets for)

August 9th - Van Halen
October 9th - Winery Dogs
November 21 - Kamelot

Haven't decided if I will go, but reserved a refundable hotel room just in case I do in NYC:

It's quite a busy 4th quarter for me

All in Dallas

Oct 10 - Symphony X/Overkill (The Bomb Factory)
Oct 29 - Mastodon/Clutch (Gas Monkey Live)
Nov 4 - Tower of Power (The Majestic) - this show was amazing!  Tightest band in the world.
Dec 2 - TesseracT/Skyharbor/The Contortionist (Trees)
Dec 6 - Between the Buried and Me (House of Blues)
Winger would be better!

. . . and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

recently, not just for 2015, I decided to compile a work-in-progress historical list of every concert I've ever seen

Who have I seen so far. Off the top of my head:

April - Nightwish
June - Rush (twice)
August - Evergrey/Borealis
September - Scorpions/Queensryche
September - Symphony X
November - Kamelot

Shit, that's it?  Thought I'd seen more.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad

Going to see Megadeth on Tuesday and that'll be it for me for 2015 - only 2 gigs this year  :'( 2016 already looking a bit more promising though - TesseracT and Symphony X both in February, then maybeshewill in April. If DT add some more UK shows for the next tour I'll probably go, but not holding out too much hope at the moment.

Getting a look back at 2015, besides The Theater Equation (which was bloody awesome beyond any description) this year was pretty much underwhelming in concert department for me. Primal Fear kicked ass, Pain of Salvation and Anathema were pretty good, Helloween were nice enough I guess, DT at their festival tour were unexciting, and other bands didn't make a lot of impression. I'm looking forward to Gamma Ray though, these guys are fun on stage.

2016 for me is shaping up nicely with Steven Wilson, Avantasia and Nightwish already booked, and I'm also thinking about getting tickets for Iron Maiden, but those are damn expensive and I'm not even a big fan.

I think we'll need Your Concerts for 2016 thread soon.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.
