I can't really find one solo that's better than better or greater than anything else. I however have a soft spot for solos that intertwine with a song in some way, like this cool duo by Arjen Lucassen and Erik Norlander:

So many cool things going on. While staying on topic one has to mention Michael Romeos brilliant solo in Dawn of a Million Souls on the same album.

Yeah, BTV is an amazing one from JP.  The SX is a good one too.
