Saw Zero Dark Thirty after a very long time, god do I love that movie. I remember watching the last half hour in the theater and being really tense even though you know pretty much what happens.

Now You See me 2.

It was good and fun and I'm a fanboy of Lizzy Caplan and love seeing her, but really, it's one of those movies where you have to switch off the critical side of your brain, because this one is even more packed with ridiculous and impossible tricks. No way the level of preparation, attention to detail and technical resources required by the tricks occouring in the movie could be pulled off by the world's most expert magician.

Also, an important plot device is an USB stick that can decrypt any information in *any* computer of the world.

Seriously, Hollywood? 30 years or so into the Internet, and still we're treating computer as magic boxes that can do everything??? you can't even let a recen program run on Windows XP but with a single device you can access any kind of computer in the world? that's on a "Independence Day virus" level of dumb.

Still, all in all I enjoyed the movie, and wouldn't mind seeing a third, accepting however that I'm gonna see impossible actual magic rather than tricks that could be explained.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

Agreed. As silly as Now You See Me 2 is, it's still an enjoyable watch.

Also, finally saw X-Men: Apocalypse today.

I will below go into brief spoiler territory.

It mostly ranged from a bit cringe to completely fine, but the scene where Jean freaks out and lets her powers loose was absolutely amazing. Chills.

Carlito's Way - 5/10

De Palma and Pacino seems to be a dull combo for me as I really didn't like Scarface. I'm not sure what it is but they just make boring, contrived movies together.

In Bruges

I finally took King's advice and watched it. Pretty good movie. The humor is dark and obscure, which I love. It's not as good as Snatch or The Way of the Gun, but it's definitely worth watching.

I like that movie a lot, but its shocking how dumb Carlito really was in this movie.

-Getting into a feud with Benny by treating him like a piece of shit instead of just telling him he's out of the game and good luck.
-Letting the feud escalate by tearing into him and his friends at the dinner table, followed by the scene in the alley.
-Having Pachanga escort Gail to the train station (after Saso warned him that he was working for Benny).

Basically, Carlito deserved the fate he got, by virtue of his own stupidity.

:lol, especially at the last part. Like that reveal was made to be a dire warning at that point in the movie but Carlito just completely ignored it.

I think Layer Cake did a much better job of that same type of ending.

His old school mentality blinded him as did the hopes of getting away with Gail. It's like the scene in the DA's office when they are trying to get him to rat out Kleinberg. He wouldn't, even after Kleinberg tried to screw him over.

Very good. Really suspenseful. One of the best horror movies of the year. 8/10

Mulholland Drive. So after liking Twin Peaks a lot (movie included), felt like tackling another Lynch film. Since this one was hailed as the best movie of the 21st century, well, why not, let's watch it. However, when I finished with it it I was like  :justjen

Then read some theories about it and...

Yeah I need to watch this again to get it better, but I quite dug it.

It's a great movie. A little more than halfway through, when everything changed, I knew I was going to have to rewatch the whole damn thing again.

Yeah I feel I'll have to watch it again soon. Even as confusing as it is, I like that it has led me to think to try make sense of it. Kinda refreshing after many films which give me everything chewed up.

Ocean's Thirteen.  Somehow, I had never seen.  Big fan of Ocean's Eleven.

Not as good as the first one, but definitely a fun watch.  Had the same fun feel as the first one.  Not Pacino's greatest role.  Much better than Ocean's Twelve.

That's because Al Pacino's greatest role is clearly " Jack And Jill " with Adam Sandler.

I watched 13 a few nights ago. It's a fun movie and I love The Godfather references.

I really liked that movie. Fairly paint by numbers indie movie story, but elevated thanks to Bill Murray and the rest of the cast.

Mr. Right. Interesting Max Landis film.  Actually a really fun, well written movie. Plot is...okay, but the dialogue is just ace, I'd very much suggest this if you like action with lots of wit and subverting expectations. Sam Rockwell is pretty awesome, wish he could get a big break.

However, made me realize that in 2015, Tim Roth did two movies where he played a British murderer who pretended to be someone with a different accent while trying to convince people he was someone else.

A little rough around the edges, but a pretty damn good movie none the less. And a very cool Walken performance as well.

Rewatched Austin Powers 2 (whatever it's called).

Man....that movie did not age well. The comedy is (mostly) just really bad right now. Though Heather Graham and Elizabeth Hurley are god damn beautiful.
