Green Room (2015): One of Anton Yelchin's last movies and possibly his best. Great movie. A lot of tension and a lot of nasty realistic violence. 8/10

The good one I hope.

In case you have no idea what I'm talking about, they remade it recently and it's terrible.

Who would've thought there would be two future governors in the main cast?

I watched a documentary on Jaco Pastorius, the greatest bass player of all time, called Jaco.  Fascinating and sad.  Interviews from friends, family, and fellow musicians, and lots of footage, including a good amount of Weather Report footage.  I really enjoyed it.

That sounds cool! ♫♫  I like Weather Report, and Jaco is amazing.
It's on Netflix.  I recommend it.

That's a strange one for me. I have a LOT of problems with that movie, but damn do I still enjoy it. But if you ask me to talk about it after, I'll just destroy it.

Fun it is. I still say the writing is pretty bad and a lot of the acting from people not named Chris, Bradley, or Dave.

If only Kotowboy.

I saw the movie in a drive in and there was thunder and lighting behind the battle scene. It so added to the ambience.

At first I thought maybe it was because I was a huge GOTG comics fan, but then I started just thinking about the story from a writing perspective and it was really bad (not all of it, but a good portion) and Zoe Saldana's, the guy who played Ronan and so forth were awful. I should add Nebula, though, to my list of good performances, loved her.

But like I said, this is when I'm not watching the movie. I rip it apart. When I'm watching it? It's fun as hell and I enjoy it like crazy.

As far as acting goes, the good definitely outweighs the bad. As far as story goes? The fun outweighs the awful plot and story. I still criticize it because it so easily could have been amazing on every level, but I also still enjoy the hell out of it.

I enjoyed the hell out that movie.  I think part of the reason was that I WASN'T very familiar with this incarnation of the Guardians; it came about after I got out of my comic-collecting time.

The GOTG that I was familiar with included Yondu, Starhawk, Vance Astro, Martinex, Charlie-27, and Nikki.  Now THAT would be a weird-ass movie, although they are mostly active in the 31st Century, so no one would care.

Independence Day Resurgence.

I loved the whole first act. It has a great slow buildup. You don't see an alien spacecraft for 40 minutes. But that first act is great and the visuals are amazing. I know nowadays we expect CGI to be

amazing but it really is.

Once the gigantic mothership touches down - it dips slightly in pacing. The tone is pretty close to the original. Although the pacing is not quite as great.

I do love the original and this one - the dramatic moments weren't quite as dramatic and the triumphant parts fell a bit flat. And the ending is really rushed.

Overall I enjoyed it and I wasn't bored or sighing out of frustration.

I give it a 6.5 out of 10.

But holy crap - I sat in my cinema seat and I shit you not - 30 minutes later the adverts stopped and the movie began. Holy Shit I thought they'd never end.

Saw it as well today, and enjoyed it thoroughly. I usually keep expectations low for such sequels, and this one fit entertainingly into that mold. Predictable as fuck, but fun anyways.

I felt like the more triumphant "moments" fell a bit flat. It might have been cut down as the runtime was under 2 hours.

The very ending in particular felt really rushed.

We saw Finding Dory last night.

It was really good.  I'm glad we stayed for the post-credits scene.

Office Space.

Maybe it looks a bit dated now, but it was absolutely funny. Looks like in 15 year the cynism of the office life hasn't changed that much...
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

I'm watching The Martian now and I can't help but think that the OST is partially inspired by the Moon OST. Lots of octave piano riffs with light strings, synth effects, and minimal distorted guitars.

A local theater showed The Fifth Element at midnight! So much fun. And I won a free ticket for knowing Zorg's full name. I have a cat named after him, so... :lol

I should know this, since it's one of my favorite movies of all time -- of all time! -- and the first Blu-ray I ever bought, for exactly that reason.  But I don't.  What is Zorg's full name?  Do we actually get it in the movie somewhere?

That's pretty cool you got to see it that early, I wonder if that cut changes from the theatrical release as there's still another month to go for the US release.

That sounds familiar for some reason.  It must be in the movie, but damned if I can think of where.

I actually had to pass the theater on my way home from Red Rocks a little bit ago (at like 11:45) and I almost went back to watch it again.
