The terrible Chris Farley movie or the awesomely cheesy horror movie?

The latter. So ridiculous!

Given the monotony of the typical Hollywood action films, I'd rather watch a movie like Black Sheep anyday. It's entertaining, hysterical, and different.

I tried to watch adaptation. It didn't hold my interest and I turned it off. I then watched cabin in the woods.

The Martian. Had seen it in the theater when it first came out and loved it, on second viewing still love it just as much. I'm curious how the director's cut will be when it comes out next month.

I liked it, but I found the humour quite strange. It seemed like he wasn't taking his situation all that seriously in parts. Apparently the book is quite like that too, but I haven't read it yet.

I thought the humor was pretty much perfect. And I think him having that positive attitude is so that he doesn't lose himself in depression over the whole thing. And it also made him a more likable character, someone I wanted to root for. I wouldn't have felt (as much) like that had he moped around the entire movie.

Man I see good reviews for The Martian but it's a movie I just don't have any interest in seeing.  I can't tell you why.

I'd be all over The Martian if Matt Damon and Ridley Scott weren't at all involved with it. I'm sure some day I'll give in and watch it.

Ridley Scott can't be faulted on his visuals. But he doesn't always have the best scripts to work with.

Prometheus is an absolute mess story wise.

I never thought that. It's a little messy, but I would never say an "absolute" one. It's confusing for sure, and things aren't answered, and there's a lot of weird stuff going on, but that doesn't necessarily mean a messy story to me.

Like, I would say Batman v Superman is a mess of a film, but it's a lot more clear and straight forward than Prometheus.

I'm not really sure how to put what I mean to words. I just don't feel that Prometheus is that much of a mess.

Well we're never sure WHY anyone in that film does anything.

Shaw and Charlie want to meet the engineers - but why ? What do they hope to accomplish ?

WHY does Weyland assume that if the Engineers created humans that they can extend his life ? ( Hello Blade Runner plot ) ??

WHY does David kill Charlie ?

There's a Chekov's Gun in the head room when Charlie sees that altar with a green gem in it that is never seen again.

WHY after all that does Shaw still want to go to the Engineer's planet ??

WHY did the Engineers create humans anyway ? To destroy later with the xenomorphs they hoped to create ?

WHY do they now hate humanity ?

Just saw 10 Cloverfield Lane. I really liked it.

Yes, definetely a lot of unanswered questions, but still doesn't mean that it's a mess. It just means you have to figure stuff out, or come to your own opinion on what's going on. There are loads of answers to those questions. Your guess is as good as mine as to which answers are right, but just because we're not given the answers in the movie doesn't mean they're not there.

Like I said, I do think it's a bit messy, just not as much as you say.

It's definitely enjoyable on a surface level. The pacing is great. The film goes really dark after almost exactly halfway.

The visuals are amazing too. That surgery scene is intense.

I saw this movie in 3D IMAX and it was an incredible experience. But as my brother said afterwards - Nothing that wasn't in the trailer. Which is a problem nowadays.

The terrible Chris Farley movie or the awesomely cheesy horror movie?

God I hope it's the former.  And while it's no Tommy Boy, I'd hardly call it terrible.

Not a movie but a documentary, Citizenfour. The documentary played out alot like the Bourne Ultimatum except for the action. As far as the material itself, I think I had some of the same reaction as Glenn Greenwald did when he said that you know all the stuff you do online is always being tracked but when you see the blueprint of it actually happening it's mind boggling.

Deadpool, finally saw it.

It was wonderful, the opening credits already got me cracking up, hehe! "Directed by an asshat", "Starring an hot chick, a CGI character, a gratuitous cameo", "Written by the real heroes here".... priceless  :rollin

Anyway, I must say that this attitude and Deadpool breaking the fourth wall are the details that made the movie stand out. Imagine a super serious version of it, it would still be the gazillionth action  hero movie with the origin story, the epic battle at the end and blablabla. The self-parody moments really raised up the bar.
