Awww. You should have started with Shaun. But yeah they're both great. Hot Fuzz is probably the best one. But the other two are just as good.

Yeah I'd say Hot Fuzz is easily the best for me. I enjoyed the World's End, but least of the three by quite a bit.

I've heard that it is tense.

Very! There was a bit of "wtf is going on?" but overall we enjoyed it. It was different. One of those movies that's so terrifying because it could actually happen.

Tried to watch The Raid Redemption

On the one hand, yeah it had amazing fight scenes, but since the whole movie is basically one big non stop fight scene, I couldn't stay interested. And it didn't help that my co workers hyped the shit out of it.

I respect it for what it is though.

Watched two movies for the first time I should've already seen by now:

Full Metal Jacket - 8/10. I absolutely loved the cinematography at the end when they were moving throughout the city. I really enjoyed the high aspect ratio and found it more immersive.

Good Will Hunting - 7/10. Solid and while it wasn't the point of the movie as it progressed I wished we got to see more of Will's abilities. That fascinated me more than the love story.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World on Comedy Central

I had heard way too many luke warm reviews about it...but I actually REALLY liked it.   I don't like Cera as Scott.   Cera is kindof the "resident dork", and the comic version of Scott was way cooler IMO.   Ramona OTOH was cast PERFECTLY.

Still think Scott should have ended up with Knives.

Although, Scott was a pretty horrible person, so maybe he's better off with another horrible person.

The sweet girl who totally supported him and loved him unconditionally? Yes.

You rooted for the manipulative girl who took advantage of everyone and put people through hell for no real reason?

But like I said, Scott was a pretty awful person too, so it works out.

I think the entire point was that both Scott and Ramona were so incredibly flawed and in general just not good people, but they somehow end up complimenting each other and changing each other for the better.

While I think the graphic novels are miles better, the movie is still very enjoyable.

Both good films.  Full Metal Jacket especially is just really, really outstanding.  Including the best opening scene in film history lol

That's just the way people talk.  I guess if you're not from that "culture" (for lack of a better word) it might be shocking or off-putting, but it sounded very natural to me.

I wanted to like it, I really did. But it just didn't do it for me. And it was way too long.

I watched Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street on HBO Now for the first time in awhile, and I forgot how incredible that film was. It's a Tim Burton film that feels like a Sondheim musical, whereas many movie musicals nowadays try to stay away from the stage-y feel. I think it what Burton did works better aesthetically. Johnny Depp and Bonham Carter were excellent

Watched Captain America : Civil War at the weekend.

I liked it a lot. TBH I've been feeling a bit of superhero fatigue recently, but I have to say that there was enough here to keep me interested all the way through. The pacing was very good, and it did a good job of giving each character enough screen time, so it didn't feel like any one was shortchanged.

It did feel more like an Avengers movie than a Captain America movie, which I suppose was the point of it really.. :)

The Witch. Amazing horror movie, I think one of the best realistic depictions of a witch without going over the top. I think I liked it better than the babadook and tied with It Follows.

Dying of the Light, with Nic Cage as a CIA guy forced into retirement due to having dementia. Dude... :lol

I don't think this movie deserves quite as bad ratings as it's gotten, but it is pretty ridiculous. The writing is just  :| but the concept is very interesting and I think Cage does the best possible job with what he's given.

Also, I've been watching the extras and Paul Schrader says this: "And the symptomology of FTD (frontotemporal dementia) is inappropriate reactions, sensory misperception, mood changes personality changes... once Nic read that, and pointed it out to me, it was like an all star batter seeing a slow curve ball coming right across the center of the plate... because those symptoms are in Mr. Cage's wheelhouse..... and he was able to knock that ball out of the park."

:rollin

Worth a watch IMO, but many  moments.

San Andreas with The Rock. Run of the mill disaster movie which is mainly to be watched for the effects I suppose. I think they're making a second one, not surprising as these things make money.

The new Fantastic Four, what a mess of a movie.

Sounds good because i'm about to see it tonight and honestly i'm pretty much burned on superhero movies. I'm only seeing it because a friend didn't wanna see anything else but then again there really weren't anything interesting other than that either.
