After waiting for surely more than a year, I finally got to watch Knight of Cups.
A typical Terrence Malick movie. Trippy, weirdly edited visual poetry with vague voice overs. I always find the story in Malick's movies not to be what's really important, it's more like poetry, it's how it makes you feel and what it says to you personally that matters. In that, the movie does it's job well.
There is very little dialogue, most of the acting is done through looks, and story mostly told through actions. All that makes it a good visual story, but as with most Malick movies, it requires patience. It did feel a bit too long. When I was done, I guessed that it had been on for maybe 2 and a half hours when it was really just an hour fifty. But that's pretty much my only problem with it, other than it being rather diffcult to fully understand, although I do think I get the overall points at least.
