Beverly Hills Ninja

Chris Farley was awesome and definitely my favorite SNL cast member ever.  The Chippendales and Matt Foley sketches are two classics.  As far as this movie goes, it's obviously not the best movie but it showcases his style of physical comedy very well.  Has some really funny moments especially when he was playing a cook at the Japanese restaurant.

The Conjuring

Haven't watched very many horror films in a long time and this one actually had the hairs on my arm standing up during a few parts.  Looking forward to catching the other films set in this universe.

"Why you keep calling me Jésus?  I look Puerto Rican to you?"

"Guy back there called you Jésus."

"He didn't say Jésus.  He said, "Hey, Zeus!"  My name is Zeus."

"Zeus?"

"Yeah, Zeus!  As in, father of Apollo?  Mt. Olympus?  Don't fuck with me or I'll shove a lightning bolt up your ass?  Zeus!  You got a problem with that?"

Hereditary. I love me an old school slow burn horror movie and this one really delivered for me. The last act especially, when this movie lets loose it doesn't mess around.

Mandy (2018):

I knew from the opening credits with King Crimson’s Starless that I would love this! Crazy movie! There aren’t too many things more awesome than crazy Nicolas Cage and he truly loses his shit in this movie! The first half is pretty slow, but the second half is pretty much non-stop gory action with crazy Nicolas Cage killing demons!

I've seen all of them (well the first 4), but only once. The first is a classic. Die Hard 3 is awesome, but it's not as original and fresh as the first was. Didn't care for the second much at all.

I really love 3.

Part 2 is ok I guess, but it always felt more like Die Hard 1.5 and not a full sequel, as if follows so many of the same beats as part 1, but hot damn 3 is cool all around and Jackson adds a whole new level of comedy and entertainment.

The Predator is an abomination to the Predator franchise. While Predator 2 wasn’t good, it’s more watchable than this dumb movie. Horrible direction from Shane Black. I don’t want my time or money back. I want my brain cells back 😑

That sucks. And its a shame since it was Shane black that directed. What a waste of an opportunity.

I think the writer/director must have been too high to bother to make a point for the movie. Most of the dialogue is just non-sense. Most of the acting feels unnatural, forced.

White Boy Rick.

It's a good movie and the acting is very, very good... bit of a downer though (not the movie portrayed by the previews).  It has very funny moments, honestly lol funny moments (Rick Jr.: "Dad, what's good in your life?  Your daughter is a junkie and I'm shitting in a bag."  Rick Sr. "I'm just a glass-half-full kind of guy."), but it's a serious movie at it's core and I honestly wasn't approaching it that way.  Wasn't ready for the good dose of reality that it presents.  Worth seeing for sure.
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter; Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man."  Ecclesiastes 12:13

Now with Twitler taking a high end steak of this caliber and insulting the cow that died for it by having it well done just shows zero respect for the product, which falls right in line with the amount of respect he shows for pretty much everything else.- Lonestar

Scarface. I'd never seen it before, and the wife was out, so...I thought what the fuck.

What a shitty movie! One dimensional, monotone, evil characters, vomiting out predictable obscenities for three hours in kitschy settings shot in bad lighting. Brian De Palma can be such a good director at times and other times be such a hack. This was one of his hack movies.

I have to agree.  I saw it years ago, before I'd heard any of the hype, and thought it was ridiculously over the top.  Every scene, every character, every line, were all calculated to be as insane and crude and "shocking" as possible.  I suppose if that's what you want, this movie really delivers.  I know some people love it, and that's fine.  But man, what a ridiculous movie.

Life Itself - meh/10

I liked the trailer. I like the actors, so I had high hopes and damn this movie is very VERY mediocre at best. It's sad, cause it has some really really great moments, just not many, and some fantastic performances by Oscar Issac and Mandy Petinkon. But the writing is just not great. It tries VERY hard to be profound and mind blowing and it just fails on those levels.

Solo. Not as good as I hoped, but also not as bad as it's made out to be.  Made me want to go back and see Rogue One again.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom- Pretty enjoyable. A bit predictable and not as good as the first JW but a solid entry into the series. Interested to see where they go with the next film.

Wolf of Wall Street, for the umpteenth time on Saturday. Super long film but damn I love it. I have a couple quibbles but they're really minor in the big picture. I think it's a fantastic, fun, if pointless sort of film, but it's a popcorn flick without being a superhero or comic film. Extremely well shot and edited and there are so many quotable moments.
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.
