The Shape of Water

Definetely liked it, but didn't love it. Michael Shannon probably deserved the oscar nom instead of Jenkins.

IT, the remake.

Left me kinda underwhelmed. Having seen the original, I feel this is an absolutely unnecessary addition, like one of those covers you hear on YouTube that are ok, but don't make you go "Wow, it's better than the original".
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

I feel like I'm the only person who prefers the dramatic Rocky (Rocky, Rocky Balboa, Creed), over the more fun cheesy Rocky (III, IV).

No, I'm with you. I think I and II are the best ones, although I do love III just as much, but for more superficial reasons (love the Thunderlips scene).  The first one is still not only the best, but one of the best movies ever.

IV is still enjoyable on a cheesy level, but it hasn't aged nearly as well for obvious reasons.  I never liked the Russian crowd all of a sudden cheering for Rocky part of the story.  That is far too contrived, even by Rocky standards, which include a man getting his face beat to death for 15 rounds, the ref not stopping the fight, and still managing to win. :lol

Rocky IV is the only Rocky that matters.

Hard to Kill - I've now watched three Steven Segal films.  I don't think I really need to watch anymore.

Crimson Tide - Phenomenal and really intense.  Quite a few big name stars packed onto a submarine too (Gene Hackman, Denzel Washington, Viggo Mortenson, James Gandolfini).  I really miss Gene Hackman.

You could have stopped at one Segal film.

Crimson Tide is on par with Red October as the best sub film (imo).  Made my Top 20 list.  Indeed a killer cast.

"Dirty Grandpa", thought I'd hate it but it ended up being ok and making me laugh at a couple different spots.

Me too, just goes to show not to trust "professional" critics, they have about as much a pulse on the common man as our government.

There's a ton of potential in that universe as well. Loads of prequels and sequels could come of it.

I'd gather that's the plan especially since regular Will Smith casting is probably out of their price range.

I watched it.....I agree there's tons of POTENTIAL but I wasn't as impressed with the movie as you guys were. I thought it was a pretty boring story actually. Considering the 'world' they created and the possibility it has.....I just thought the story itself was flat and not very engaging.

I know they've green lit a sequel so let's hope they spice it up a bit.

I didn't think it was ground breaking or anything. I'd probably give it a 7/10 at most. I was surprised by it though and thought it was fun. And maybe I'm grasping at straws here, but I see this movie playing out like Avatar. First film has a relatively simple story that introduces you to the world and what it's about. You meet a bunch of characters with enough backstory for some context and then you wrap it up. With all the introductions out of the way, the sequels can hit the ground running.

So they're making another Crocodile Dundee movie.

With Danny McBride as his son.

It looks awful.

So it's staying true to the originals, then?

I guess the movie didn't speak to you people from New Zealand.

I honestly can't remember the second one, or whatever that third one was that I doubt I saw.

But the original had charm. This just looks like Danny McBride doing the Danny McBride thing and essentially taking a piss on the original.

He even does the whole "that's a knife" thing. Ugh.

Coco - very nice little movie. It took a while to set itself up and get going, but once it did, it was great.

Also, the animation was fantastic. Some of the backdrops looked so realistic you almost forgot that it was an animated movie.

The only thing good about it was that Emma Watson is cute. Really mad at myself for wasting 2 hours on it.
