It's best to try and pretend that Rocky 5 wasn't made.  At least Stallone realized that was a terrible way to end the franchise and Rocky Balboa was a much much better ending.

Yeah, V is a mess. Its bad and not even in a "its so bad its good" kind of way. I just avoid it. VI is decent, but I've only watched it once where as I have seen IV the most and III after that. Those are my personal go to rocky films.

Underworld: Blood wars. Meh I thought it would be an ok watch but was pretty boring and not much new to the series. I enjoyed the first 3 movies, 4th was forgettable as was this last one. Heard they're still going to make another one.

Life. I really enjoyed it. It's similar to Alien in sentiment and had the dread of Event Horizon. I'd rate it 7/10.

Men in Black II - I'm not sure what was missing in this movie, I think it had all the right things but something was lacking to really make this more likable. I mean there were great parts here and there, don't think they were able to nail the flow of the movie like they did with the other two.
This is the perfect description of that film. There was just no big, memorable spectacle to tie it all together, it didn't really bring anything new to the table, and the plot was "meh" (as far as I can remember). I remember Smith's love interest floating away in a pod or something? I think.

I like Men in Black 2, but I think it's mostly nostalgia talking, since I watched that movie to death as a kid. Haven't judged it through adult eyes, so I have no idea how it would hold up now. But when I think back on the MIB movies, the second one is my favorite.

Got to see Baby Driver last night, what a blast. Fun performances from Spacey/Hamm/Foxx, and a really great use of a soundtrack.

Completely agree.  It had some cool style with the camera that made me feel heightened. Plus The blood, the blood!

It was so refreshing to be honest.

What movie from the 80's was I shocked that you haven't seen yet Blob?

Get out.  Finally saw this after reading all the hype. It was good and enjoyable. i liked the way story unfolded since I had zero idea what it was about.

After reading more about this movie, I admit I should've watched this movie at a more relaxed and alert time. This movie was so deeply multilayered I missed almost every single aspect of it. So much imagery, subtle hints all across the movie that just went over my head entirely.

I'm going to watch it again with a much keener eye. If anyone hasn't seen this movie and are fans of layered story telling, I'd suggest watching it while paying full attention.

Dr.Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931)

Great movie, and pushed the limits for the time. I remember being impressed by the transforming effect too, they used some clever filter effects.
I never made it through the 1940 version though. Nowhere near as good.

Which is why MGM bought the rights to the 1931 version and recalled all the prints they could possibly find. They didn't want any comparisons lol.

Yeah, I can't blame them. I'm glad they didn't manage to eradicate the superior version. :lol

Maybe that's why to this day, people are still fearful of remakes.
WHY ARE YOU COMPLAINING? THEY'RE NOT STOPPING YOU FROM WATCHING THE OLD VERSION. OH WAIT.....

The funny thing is that it didn't work. I guess being an oscar winner makes the film youre trying to bury more memorable than they thought.

Cloud Atlas.
I don't know what to say about this movie.. great acting I guess.
It's unpleasant spending the first 2 hours of a 3 hour movie waiting to understand what's going on before making peace with the fact that they won't really tell you what's going on or the overall point.
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.

Started watching Transformers: Age of Extinction because I hadn't seen it since it came out. I think I made it 30 minutes before shutting it off because it's a fucking awful movie in almost every way. It has good CGI and high production value going for it, but other than that it pretty much all sucks to the point of making me angry and wondering how it's possible for adults to have written this crap.

You're making the assumption that the movie had a writer at all. :lol
The only thing I liked about it was Optimus Prime as the classic cab-over truck design at the start. :blob:

Even as a Transformers fanboy, I had to finally bow out for this new movie.
And then the really great movies barely gross enough to cover a Transformers movie's budget.

Sadly, jingle.son and I forced ourselves to endure it - both re-watching AoE, and going to see the new pile of steamy crap in IMAX.

It was gloriously awful.... just an absolute hot mess.

I just can't watch a movie for mindless explosions and CGI any more. The only new movie I'm really excited for this year is War for the Planet of the Apes. First new movie I'll be seeing this year, with a couple more towards the end of the year.

Also, I just finished watching First Blood part 2. Great 80s action movie, although I think I preferred 1 and 4. Tomorrow night I'll watch 3.

Definitely not as good as the rest. It was ok, and had some really good action moments, but overall it just felt very lacking, and I didn't like the pacing as much.
